Toyota is launching a special edition version of the GR Supra called the Jarama Race Track Edition. Named after the Spanish race track where Toyota hosted the official media drive of the GR Supra, the special edition sports coupé is limited to just 90 units, all of which are earmarked for the European market. The Toyota GR Supra Jarama Race Track Edition will be available this spring. Pricing details have not been announced.

Pros
Cons

The Toyota Supra Jamara Racetrack Edition doesn’t stand out as a special edition GR Supra. Visually, it looks a lot like the Supra A91 Edition, minus the black graphics, that Toyota released for the U.S. market back in February 2020.

The GR Supra Jamara Racetrack Edition is dressed in a Horizon Blue paint finish with matching black accents, including a blacked-out Supra emblem. The coupé also sits on an exclusive set of 19-inch alloy wheels with matching red brake calipers.

Black Alcantara upholstery makes up the majority of the interior upgrades. Toyota also used blue stitching on the seats, center console, and door handles to create a nice contrast with the black-dominated interior. A special plaque on the dashboard that shows the model’s production number next to a silhouette of the Jamara racetrack acts as a reminder of this GR Supra’s exclusivity.

No engine upgrades are included in the Jamara Racetrack Edition. The special edition Supra is powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine that produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power from the engine to the two rear wheels. This allows the GR Supra to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph.

In lieu of engine upgrades, Toyota made improvements to the sports coupe’s chassis. A GR-tuned performance chassis that uses the Golden Ratio was installed in the GR Supra Jamara to improve the coupe’s overall driving capabilities.

Final Thoughts

Toyota’s GT Supra Jamare Racetrack Edition is a fitting tribute to an important circuit for Toyota. But the upgrades and changes aren’t that significant to properly identify this Supra as a limited-run version. The black wheels and the contrast blue stitching are nice additions to the sports car, but beyond those features, the Jamare Racetrack Edition doesn’t look as special as Toyota would like it to be.
