Back in 2019, Toyota launched the GR Supra GT4 Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. Shortly after, Toyota Gazoo Racing revealed the production version Supra GT4, and as of 2020, it was available to order. It can be raced in GT4 championships, and from the 250 races entered, 37 customers were actually able to take the highest place on the podium, which means the little racer is actually quite successful.

Until now, Gazoo Racing built a total of 49 copies of the special Supra GT4 race car. The 50th of them, however, is quite special! It is named Supra GT4 Edition 50, and unfortunately, it is still a race car.

What's special about the 2022 Toyota GR Supra GT4 "50 Edition"?

The special edition Supra comes to celebrate not just the success of the GT4 race car, but also to mark in a special way the building of the 50th unit.

The special race car is finished in a very cool red paint combined with gold “50 Edition” logos on the front fenders and roof. The same gold logo will be found inside the cabin on the dashboard and the infotainment system controller.

While on the exterior everything else is pretty much the same as in the base Supra GT4, the interior is different. The "50 Edition" offers a redesigned driver’s seat, while the passenger seat is included as standard equipment. Also, as standard equipment, the car will offer a rearview camera and a tire pressure monitoring system.

No changes were made under the hood, so the 2022 Toyota GR Supra GT4 "50 Edition" will be offered with the same engine as the standard GT4: a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that delivers 429 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. For the sake of comparison, the road-legal Supra only delivers 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque.

Also, the GT4 is a lot lighter: it weighs 2,976 pounds compared to 3,397 pounds for the road car.

The 2022 Toyota GR Supra GT4 "50 Edition" will be limited to only six units: two will be offered in Europe, two in Asia, and two on the North American market. The model will be priced at &euro175,000 - or about $200,000 as per the current exchange rates.
