2019 Toyota Supra Launch Edition
Like most new cars these days, the new Toyota Supra is coming with a first-off-the-line version called the Launch Edition. Based on the sports car’s Premium trim, the Supra Launch Edition sets itself apart from the standard Supra through a number of special details and exclusive touches. Only 1,500 units of the Supra Launch Edition will be available, all of which are earmarked for the U.S. market. The first-production Supra is included in the first 1,500 units. Unfortunately, no one’s going to get it anymore since it was already auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona for a whopping $2.1 million. The Supra Launch Edition, on the other hand, starts off at just $55,250.
2020 Toyota Supra
The fifth generation of the iconic sports car, the 2020 Toyota Supra, marked the brand’s return to the U.S. market after 21 years (and in Japan after 17). Unveiled at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show, the Supra Mk. 5 goes on sale for the 2020 model with a high-performance six-cylinder engine and Toyota’s latest technology. Unlike its predecessor, the fifth-gen Supra wasn’t developed in-house by Toyota. The coupe is the result of a long collaboration with BMW, from which Toyota borrowed the chassis, engines, and transmission. Together with its motorsport division, Gazoo Racing, Toyota designed the exterior, the cabin, and retuned the suspension system. The new Supra is also the first vehicle developed by Gazoo Racing to go global. These cars were previously restricted to the Japanese market.
Toyota Will Finally Show Off the 2020 Supra at the Detroit Auto Show
It’s official. After years of anticipation, Toyota has finally announced that the new 2020 Toyota Supra will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in 2019. Toyota says that that the auto industry’s “worst-kept secret” is finally out, and production of the new Supra will begin in the first half of 2019.
2019 Toyota Avalon
First introduced in 1994, the Toyota Avalon is the Japanese brand’s full-size sedan offering, seeing sales in North America, Puerto Rico, and the Middle East. Since its debut at the Chicago Auto Show back in the ’90s, a total of four generations have come and gone, and now, there’s a brand-new fifth-gen heading for the dealer lots. First making the scene at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the 2019 Avalon is framed as “attainable premium,” or “mid-premium,” and Toyota hopes it’ll entice customers with an upscale, comfortable four-door package that won’t break the bank. Truth be told, the sedan bodystyle (especially full-size sedans) can be a hard sell these days, as consumers usually fulfill their seating-for-five requirements with some kind of high-riding SUV or crossover. Despite this, Toyota is confident the 2019 Avalon will be an exception to the rule thanks to its extensive list of upgrades, which include a variety of luxurious touches and technology enhancements that almost lend it a feeling of “Germaness” on the surface. Dig deeper, though, and you’ll find the Avalon stays true to its Japanese roots, with unique charactersitics throughout, as well as a hybrid option for those looking for extra dollars saved at the pump.

2018 Toyota Camry NASCAR Cup Car
At the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Toyota unveiled the eighth-generation Camry, the company’s sportiest and most advanced midsize sedan to date. Alongside the new road car, the Japanese carmaker also took the covers off its new NASCAR racer, which will be used in the top-level Cup Series starting this year.
Although it’s by no means new under the skin, the Camry NASCAR is completely new on the outside, featuring all the important design elements seen on the road car. To achieve this, Camry chief designer Masato Katsumata oversaw the project with engineers from Calty Design, Toyota’s North American design studio, and Toyota Racing Development (TRD).
Up front, the road-going and the NASCAR models are almost identical. Of course, the race car is lower and wider and details such as the headlamps, grilles, and vents are only painted, but the nose and the engine hood are true to the car you’ll find in dealerships later in 2017. As with most modern NASCAR racers, the side view is significantly different due to the simulated two-door design, the shorter wheelbase, and the longer rear overhang. The same goes for the rear end, which uses a much simpler bumper and a bigger spoiler due to the series’ aerodynamic regulations.
All told, Toyota’s new NASCAR weapon is as gorgeous as the road-going sedan.
“The collaboration between Calty Design Group and TRD has produced a NASCAR Camry that showcases aggressive styling that is sure to turn heads on the race track and among our fans in Toyota showrooms across the country. Reimagining both the Camry race car and its production counterpart has been a tremendous undertaking and our goal has been to maintain parallel design characteristics so our fans can enjoy driving a Camry that closely resembles the one their favorite NASCAR driver races each weekend,” said Ed Laukes, vice president of Integrated Marketing Operations for Toyota Motor Sales.
The NASCAR Camry will make its track debut at Daytona Speedway on February 18 in The Clash at Daytona, before the Daytona 500 race on February 26. Toyota enters the 2017 NASCAR season as the defending champion after winning the manufacturers’ championship for the first time in 2016. As of 2017, Toyota also won the drivers’ championship in 2015, while Camry drivers have won 95 races since the company joined the series in 2007.

Humans have been sending probes and satellites into space since the 1950s, but until now, communicating with those hunks of metal in space has required huge mechanical dishes. Of course, there are smaller ones too, like the ones used by satellite TV providers, but that isn’t small enough to bring satellite communication to cars. Some cars are “globally connected” via an onboard 4G LTE internet connection, but that connection isn’t as good as it could be, thus slowing down data communication between cars and the rest of the world. That connection is slowed because there are so many “middle men” between the car and the source of the data.
If there was a way to link cars directly to satellites, we could create a high-speed data transfer system that would allow the distribution of massive amounts of data to cars on a global level, and create a more stable and secure form of communication. Well, now there is a way, and Toyota is displaying that technology with the Toyota Mirai-based Kymeta research vehicle that just debuted at the Detroit Auto Show.
The Mirai was already weird enough, with its aggressive design and hydrogen fuel cell, but Kymeta took it one step further with flat antenna satellite communication. Toyota and Kymeta have been working together to research flat antenna technology since 2013, and after 8,000 miles of testing, this concept represents the progress made so far. Toyota is hoping that this technology will offer a better car experience, and it will probably assist in the use of autonomous cars as well. The Toyota Tacoma has technically been around since 1995, though Toyota has been building a pint-sized truck since the mid 1950s. The classic Hilux truck that is usually associated with Toyota made its North American debut in 1968. The design morphed into that iconic square-body shape by its fourth generation, hitting streets in 1983. The fifth-generation Hilux, or as it was simply called in the U.S., the Toyota Pickup, saw upgrades to interior quality and power. Toyota’s U.S. truck business really kicked off with the 1995 Tacoma. An all-new design with a Camry-like interior, a stout pair of engines, and a robust four-wheel-drive system brought huge sales numbers to Toyota.
Finally getting a major upgrade for 2016, the third-generation Tacoma will compete against the still-fresh 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, the upcoming refreshed Nissan Frontier, and the possible renaissance of the Ford Ranger. Baring those trucks that aren’t at dealerships, the Tacoma already has a fight on its hands with the GM twins. Will the new Taco be enough to dethrone the award-winning Chevy and GMC? While the new FT-1 Concept car was specially designed for the new Gran Turismo 6 racing game, we have a strange feeling that it previews the new-generation Supra. In fact, Toyota announced that the concept car previews the company’s future design language, meaning that a new sports car may be right around the corner.
The new concept car is named the FT-1 and the name was explained as follows: FT stands for "Future Toyota," and the number "1" represents the ultimate. According to Toyota, the design team started to work on this new concept car about two years ago, and it’s pretty clear that it is a continuation of the FT-HS launched in 2007, with some design elements taken from the 2012 Lexus LF-LC.
The concept was designed by the Calty design team and comes just in time to celebrate the team’s 40th anniversary. It was officially unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The tremendous amount of publicity being showered on the Vision Gran Turismo concepts are well deserved. After all, it’s not everyday that you see automakers from all over the world sign up for such an unprecedented project of designing video game exclusive concept vehicles.
Excluding what has already been unveiled — the BMW and Mercedes concepts — some of the other brands participating in the project have provided teasers of their own through Sony, preparing us for what will eventually be an onslaught of concept awesomeness.
Yesterday, Toyota added its name to that hat, releasing a shadowy teaser of its Vision Gran Turismo Concept, featuring a pretty sick silhouette that comes with a huge rear spoiler, a sweeping hood, a long-flung roof, and what we imagine to be a car riding pretty close to the ground.
Toyota has given no indication on when it plans to reveal its Vision Gran Turismo Concept. But since we like speculating on these things, we’re hoping to see Toyota follow Mercedes’ route when it revealed its own concept at the LA Auto Show.
And wouldn’t you know it, the North American International Auto Show is a little over a month away from opening its doors. What better way to steal the show than the to bring this concept and the reborn Supra, right?

After being teased for a couple of weeks, the new Toyota Corolla Furia Concept made its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show. As you probably have guessed from its name, the new Furia concept previews the design language set to be used in the next-generation Corolla.
The concept has been designed around a new "Iconic Dynamism" theme that combine pure and simple surface in an attempt to create a "confident, decisive and recognizable appearance appealing to more youthful consumers."
Up front Furia received a blacked-out grille and new sculpted front LED headlamps. The elegant lines continue with a sloped roofline and pronounced fender flares and rear composite LED taillight. Numerous carbon fiber accents have been used on the wheel wells, rocker panels, and rear valance. The concept sits on a new set of 19" alloy wheels.
Of course not all these elements will be featured in the next Corolla, but we expect to see at least the front grille, the headlamps and the taillamps.
Toyota is offering their customer a glimpse on what the next Prius will bring with the unveiling of the NS4 Plug-in Hybrid Concept today at the Detroit Auto Show. When designing the new NS4, Toyota engineers were challenged to design a new mid-sized concept for potential global market introduction by 2015.
"In this digital age, cars are becoming another spoke in the wheel of our electronic connectivity," said Jim Lentz, TMS president and chief operating officer. "NS4 demonstrates Toyota’s take on the human connection to the car with technology that considers both emotional and rational relationships, person-to-car and car-to-society."
Also, the new NS4 concept offers a glimpse on the next-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive plug-in system by reducing component size and weight. As a result the fuel economy will be significantly improved, but also the car’s acceleration and the all-electric range. In the same time Toyota focused on maintaining a short charge time.

Toyota has brought out the big electric guns to the Detroit Auto Show with the new Prius family, including the new Prius c Concept. With the "c" standing for "city"-centric vehicle, the new concept is a preview version of a future Prius model that aims to young singles and couples who want an eco-sensitive, high-mileage, fun-to-drive car.
Toyota hasn’t exactly offered many details on this concept, but they did confirm that it offers outstanding fuel efficiency and a surprisingly spacious interior. It will include many advanced technology features, including some offered on the current Prius. Like with all the other Prius models in the line-up, the c Concept will share the current generation Prius’ platform and Hybrid Synergy Drive technology.
The Prius c Concept is the inspiration for an additional Prius family member that will come to market in the first half of 2012 as the most value-oriented hybrid in the U.S. market with the highest mileage of any "cordless" hybrid.
We are not exactly as thrilled about the new Prius line as Toyota is, especially with so many up and coming hybrids on the market, but it’s nice to know that Toyota isn’t going to go down easy.

The second production version added to the Toyota Prius family is the new "v" version revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. With "v" expressing the vehicle’s versatility, the new Prius v will combine the practicability of a minivan with the hybrid drivetrain of a Prius hatchback model.
The new "v" version is built on the same platform as the first Prius, but promises a 50% space increase inside its cabin. The car also has a low 0.29 coefficient of drag, all while being produced in an evolutionaryPrius design.
The car is identical to its hatchback brother: the same exterior design language, the same hybrid drive train under the hood that delivers a total of 40 mpg, and the same technology for the interior that includes an Entune multimedia system which supports mobile apps such as Bing, OpenTable, and movietickets.com.

The fuel efficient Japanese automaker Toyota plans to offer a wider variety of electrically assisted vehicles then just simply the conventional gas/electric hybrid vehicles. As a preview of what is to come, in the way of plug in hybrids (PHVs), battery electric (BEVs) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCHVs) Toyota unveiled the FT-CH city car, which stands for compact hybrid, at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Joining the fun to drive FT-86 in Toyota’s new compact family, the CH will offer all the efficient amenities of a Prius in a package that measures 22 inches shorter in length inorder to weave through congested urban centers. However the FT-CH is only about an inch narrower then the best selling hybrid meaning that the city car concept will offer just as much room for passengers on the inside. Compared to the current 50 MPG Prius, the FT-CH weighs less and is even more fuel efficient. And it’s going to be cheaper too. With the concept’s fun and innovative features, colorful and stylish design, Toyota hopes that this high energy hybrid will have a strong appeal to younger shoppers.

The Camry and Camry Hybrid models are entering the 2010 model year with revised exterior styling, a new four-cylinder powertrain and new safety, audio and convenience features. For 2010 Toyota will offer: Camry standard, LE, SE and XLE versions with prices ranging between $19,395 for a standard Camry with new six-speed manual transmission to $29,045 for the XLE with a six-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid version is priced at $26,150.
The standard version are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that deliver 169 hp, or 179 hp in the SE versions. The top of the line models get a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 268 hp and is mated to a six -speed automatic transmission.
On the exterior, Camry gets a newly designed grille and front bumper, an enlarged lower intake, larger projector headlamps and restyled tail lamps. The Camry and LE grades feature restyled standard wheel covers. The XLE grade will run on new 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, while the SE grade adds new 17-inch sporty alloy wheels.
Inside, Camry is available with an optional audio system equipped with a new USB port for auxiliary music sources, Bluetooth(R), integrated satellite radio, single-CD, and MP3 and Bluetooth(R) streaming music capability. Previously an option, all Camry gas models will now be equipped with Vehicle Stability Control with traction control. Auto up/down power windows with jam protection on all four doors is standard equipment.

The third generation Prius made its world debut today at the Detroit Auto Show. With better mileage ratings, enhanced performance, and innovative design features, the 2010 Prius will go on sale in the spring.
The new Prius is powered by a new 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle, four-cylinder engine that delivers 98 hp and a peak torque of 105 lbs-ft. Prius has been a "full" hybrid since introduction. This allows it to run on engine alone, battery alone, or a combination of both.
The design of the new Prius’ front and rear corners are sharp, sporty and aerodynamic. Strong side character lines, rising from front to rear, define the glazed geometric shape. Viewed from the rear, wider rear treads provide a solid, firmly rooted stance.
Dimensionally, the new Prius has the same wheelbase as the current generation. Overall length is slightly increased by 0.6 inches, in part by moving the front cowl forward.

Toyota revealed at the Detroit Auto Show the FT-EV concept, a preview version of the future urban commuter battery-electric vehicle (BEV) by set to be revealed 2012.
The FT-Ev is build on the same platform as the iQ and according to the company will be used for driving up to 50 miles. Toyota did not released any details on the concept’s specifications.
The iQ and the future BEV will be a key component of Toyota’s sustainable mobility strategy, and the conventional gas-electric hybrid, like the all new third-generation Prius, is considered Toyota’s long-term core powertrain technology.

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., unveiled the all-new 2009 Venza crossover sedan at a press conference here today at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Venza will raise the crossover vehicle to new levels by combining a unique blend of sedan refinement and sport utility vehicle (SUV) functionality.
Toyota Motor Sales unveiled the all-new 2007 Tundra CrewMax full-size pickup at a press conference here today at the 2007 North American International Auto Show. CrewMax, arriving at dealers in March, will join the Tundra Regular Cab and Tundra Double Cab models, which arrive in February.
The Toyota FT-HS hybrid sports concept will make its debut at the 2007 North American International Auto Show. Pairing a potent hybrid powertrain with essential sports car fundamentals, the FT-HS concept was a joint undertaking of Calty, Toyota’s North American-based, research and design center located in Newport Beach, Calif., and Toyota’s California-based Advanced Product Strategy Group. The design team was assigned the task of creating a mid-priced sports car that integrates ecology and emotion in a concept that addresses the question "What is a suitable sports car for the 21st Century?"
The essential Toyota values of roominess, style and environmentally advanced performance come together in a dynamic new way in the F3R, the latest concept vehicle from Toyota. The surprising F3R, which made its debut at the North American International Automobile Show in Detroit, is an exercise in providing maximum space, efficiency and athletic style from the combined concepts of "box" and "wedge". It is a creative, sporty extension of a concept all but forgotten in today’s automotive world - that of the minivan. The project was a joint undertaking of Calty Design Research Inc., Toyota’s California design studio, and the company’s California-based Advanced Product Strategy group. It was commissioned because of changes in the minivan market.
