2019 Vauxhall Corsa GSi

2019 Vauxhall Corsa GSi

Fun And Raspy City Car

Whether you call it the Vauxhall Corsa GSi or the Opel Corsa GSi, one thing is for certain - the Corsa GSi is one zippy concoction made to make a lot of bang for not a lot of buck. Available in mainland Europe as Opel and in the U.K. as the Vauxhall, the Corsa GSi packs a tiny, 1.4-liter turbocharged, engine, enough power to surge to 62 mph in less than 9 seconds and, with a proper amount of sporty features honed by the OPC, enough character to make you happy.

2015 Vauxhall Corsa

2015 Vauxhall Corsa

The Opel Corsa has been around since 1982 as one of Vauxhall and Opel’s most popular models. For 2015, the Corsa saw its fifth-generation redesign that helped it obtain a much more modern appearance compared to the outgoing model. Up front, there is now a single grille that is the same shape as the low-sitting air dam on the previous model. Down below the grille, there is a small opening above a lip that runs along the bottom side of the fascia. The headlights have been pushed a little farther toward the center of the car. The sides haven’t been changed much, but now feature a few new character lines. Inside, the Corsa got the attention it deserved and features a dual-gauge instrument cluster with a small display in the middle and a fairly large infotainment screen in the center stack. The car is in the supermini class, so there isn’t exactly a lot of room, but the cabin is still pretty inviting. The big news in the drivetrain department is the new 1.0-liter, Ecotec, three-cylinder that delivers 89 or 113 horsepower.

As you’ll see as you read our detailed review below, the new Corsa is finally in-line with competitors like the Ford Fiesta. It’s now sportier and looks like it is pretty fast for its class. The new styling of the fascias and side skirts give it the sporty appearance that people love, while the smaller engines provide decent horsepower with acceptable fuel economy and low emissions. With that said, there is a lot more about the Corsa than what I’ve said here, so check out the full review and let us know what you think.

2013 Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport

2013 Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport

The Vauxhall VXR lineups is far and away one of the most feared lineups that GM offers, and that lineup has been undergoing some aesthetic changes lately. The latest of these changes hits the Insignia VXR SuperSport, which is regularly known as "UK’s fastest car under £30,000." Well, it not only retains that title through an increase top speed, but it also gets a nice revision for the end of the 2013 model year.

Available in its traditional hatchback and Sports Tourer variants, the new Insignia VXR gets a nice refresh to its front and rear fascias to help add a little extra style and aggression to the model. Not that it needs the aggressive look to scare most cars its size off of the road, but it certainly helps.

Unfortunately, this late-model-year refresh involve mostly just aesthetics, but then again, with 325PS (320 horsepower) under its hood, it’s all good.

We’ll Vauxhall reveal all of the Insignia VXR Supersport’s information at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 12th.

2010 Vauxhall Corsa Black and White Limited Edition

2010 Vauxhall Corsa Black and White Limited Edition

The Vauxhall Corsa is a car of many names. Known as the Opel Corsa, Holden Barina, Chevrolet Corsa, Opel Vita, Vauxhall Corsa (obviously), and many others, you could say that this vehicle needs a little bit of a personality in order to not get lost in the crowd of aliases. Fortunately, Vauxhall revealed today that the Corsa will be treated to a very elegant and classy Black and White Limited Edition that will be available in showrooms from next month until the end of the year.

This special edition will get glacier white bodywork, black 17-inch twin spoke alloy wheels and detailing, topped off – literally - with a black sapphire roof. It also gets a lowered suspension and sports a VXR styling kit comprising front and rear lower spoilers, side skirts, and a new roof spoiler.

The same black and white theme is continued on the interior where it gets a piano black center console with contrasting white air vents.

Prices for the Corsa Black & White range from £13,995 for the 3-door 1.2, to £15,400 for the 5-door ecoFLEX diesel.

Okay, so it is not necessarily a 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo GT600 Black and White Edition by BF-Performance, but it can still get you from point A to point B with a little class and style.

When working to help the environment, it’s often the small changes that can make a big difference. That’s the theory used by Vauxhall engineers who have managed to optimise the Corsa CDTi’s engine to save the planet from hundreds of thousands of tons of C02 emissions - and collective Corsa owners from hundreds of thousands of pounds in tax.
The revised 1.3CDTi 75PS engine, which is on sale now, sees emissions drop from 124g/km to 119g/km. This might seem like a small step, but it has great (...)
