When it comes to muscle cars, the U.S. is arguably home to the greatest machines ever created. It’s here that the muscle car was born in the 1960s and revived decades later at the end of the Malaise Era. The offerings might not be as varied as they were back in the day, but there are quite a few choices from Ford, GM, and Chrysler. The range now even includes a couple of muscle sedans, with the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat being the most powerful such model to ever come from Detroit. But Europe has its very own Australian muscle in the form of the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS.
Holden-badged muscle cars have caused U.S. enthusiasts a lot of frustration lately, despite GM importing the latest-generation 2010 Holden Commodore with a Chevrolet SS badge. The General said no to the awesome 2013 HSV Gen-F GTS and rejected an El Camino revival based on the Holden Ute and its beefed-up, 2015 HSV GTS Maloo counterpart. Sadly, that’s not going to happen in the future as Holden is about to shut down all Australian manufacturing by 2017.
Meanwhile, gearheads from Down Under will continue to enjoy their Holdens and HSVs, while the British will get to drive around in the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS, a rebadged version of the HSV Gen-F GTS.

Shortly after HSV unveiled the 2013 GEN-F GTS, Vauxhall also announced the launch of the new VXR8 GTS - or the most powerful VXR8 offered by the company. The model borrowed all the technology and the design language from its Australian brother, so for sure you pretty much know what to expect from this new model.
When designing the new VXR8 GTS, Vauxhall focused on making the car looking as aggressive and as sporty as possible. For this it opted for bold graphics and shallow ramp angles that emphasize the car’s width and stance.
The new Vauxhall VXR8 GTS is now available for order at a price of £54,999 - or about $84,000 at the current exchange rates. According to Vauxhall this is about £20k less than any other German rival, while delivering pretty much the same performance figures.

Over in the UK market, British automaker Vauxhall has pulled the covers off of the new VRX8 Tourer, a full-sized tourer that carries quite a punch under its hood.
There weren’t a whole lot of sweeping changes done to the tourer compared to its previous iterations, but the VRX8 Tourer nevertheless carries a character that exudes quiet confidence mixed in with class-leading cargo space and impressive performance credentials.
Since it’s classified as a tourer/wagon, the initial reaction surrounding the VRX8 Tourer might be that it belongs in market that puts less importance on its looks and its power. However, this model has the looks and the power that can make it a worthy candidate to be somebody’s next full-sized wagon.
It may not have the brand recognition of a Mercedes or a BMW, but Vauxhall is serious about bringing the fight to the German brands. And it has the VRX8 Tourer as a worthy soldier to do the battling for it.

Most of you are familiar with the awesome Opel Insignia OPC, or the Vauxhall Insignia VXR if you are from the British market. With an impressive output of 325 horsepower, this model can hit a top speed of 155 mph. Today, however, the company has improved this model even further with the addition of a new VXR SuperSport edition that can hit an astounding top speed of 170 mph.
The new VXR SuperSport is powered by a turbocharged 2.8-liter V-6 Ecotec engine. This engine features a micro-alloy forged steel crank, classic 60-degree cylinder angle and a die-cast alloy sump. It delivers a total of 325 horsepower, which launches the car to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds.
In order to deliver the best possible handling at high speeds, the new SuperSport has been equipped with a HiPer Strut front suspension, which maintains negative camber and improves grip levels in wet and dry. Also included on the SuperSport is the FlexRide adaptive damping system.
Vauxhall has also placed blue "Brembo" lettering on the front brake calipers plus additional increments on the speedometer in order to help customers identify the model.
Have you noticed that the British customers are getting lots of cool special editions lately? And if you needed some more proof, Vauxhall has just revealed the Corsa VXR Blue Edition. Featuring new styling details, an additional kit as standard, and a head-turning paint job, the new edition is priced at £19,425.
The new VRX Blue Edition is distinguished by Arden Blue metallic paint, 18-inch alloys, dark-tinted glass, bespoke interior air vents and Recaro seats. It also gets new ‘Eagle-Eye’ headlamps, and a signature bar across the grille, colored in blue. There are deep in-set fog lamps, a wider and more prominent grille and a low, sculpted front spoiler to boost its sporting appeal.
The same blue theme is also continued on the interior. There is stitching on the leather steering-wheel, the interior air-vent color, and the trim on the Recaro seats.
Under the hood there is a 1.6 liter Turbo engine that delivers 192 HP and sprints the car from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 140 mph.
If a car was able to have chest hair sticking out of their front bumper to illustrate the testosterone hidden in the panels, then this Vauxhall VXR8 would definitely be needing a trimmer. Coming into the 2011 model year, the VXR8 will be one hot little performance sedan with some styling modifications and some new technology. But we can’t get too excited because this Vauxhall is obviously only available in the UK. Stupid Atlantic Ocean.
The 2011 VXR8 is powered by the fourth generation 6.2-liter LS3 unit that delivers an impressive 431 HP and 550Nm of torque. This is just enough to sprint the VXR8 from 0 to 60mph in 4.9 seconds and to hit a top speed limited to 155mph.
Anyone would be just about insane not to want a piece of this action so some must-have information is where one can find the 2011 Vauxhall VXR8. It will be available through just six specialist VXR dealers in the UK, though a total of 34 VXR outlets will be authorized to maintain the model.

Vauxhall is offering a new range of diesel engines for both the sedan and Sports Tourer models of the Insignia. The first engine is a 2.0-liter Turbo that delivers 160 HP and a peak torque of 350Nm from 1750-2500rpm. This is all accomplished with a fuel consumption of 57.6mpg for the sedan and 55.4mpg for the Sports Tourer model.
The second engine is an improved 2.0 CDTi 160 HP engine that now has a fuel consumption that has been improved by 6.5%. There is also a new 2.0 CCDTi engine that delivers 130 HP and, finally, a 2.0 CDTi engine offered in both 130 and 160 HP versions.
Engineers have designed a stiffer fixing between the injection pump and engine, while also reducing piston noise at all engine speeds. The addition of scissor gears to the cam-drive enhances engine refinement still further, while supplementary noise-absorbing foam shields complete the NVH package.
The greatest part about these new engine additions, other than the obvious environmental factor, is that the Insignia’s pricing will remain the same and the new engines are available starting today!

Vauxhall unveiled today a new version for the very successful Insignia. It combines the Adaptive 4x4 all-wheel drive system with the adaptive FlexRide chassis and the electronically controlled rear limited slip differential (eLSD). The car will go on sale this September.
The new Insignia will be offered with four petrol engines ranging from 140PS to 325PS. Vauxhall will also offer a diesel engine to the tune of 160PS 2.0 CDTi. The 2.0 CDTi engine will be found int he ecoFLEX model that will have low fuel cinsumption and CO2 emissions.
The new Insignia Sports Tourer 4x4 is powered by a 2.0-liter 160HP CDTi diesel engine. It also features a power tailgate with programmable opening height, Automatic Self Levelling Rear Suspension (standard with Towing Pack), and the FlexOrganizer cargo management system.
Vauxhall has also announced a new trim level called SRi Vx-Line. It features a VXR-style sport leather steering wheel and gearshift gaiter and 19-inch, five-spoke alloys. The second trim level introduced, the Indian Summer interior, adds Nappa leather and cashmere stitching to the mix.

Vauxahall Astra has a very long history as a police car ever since its first introduction in 1979. And the new generation Astra continues this long tradition as a Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
The new Astra Police car will be available with an instrument console incorporating integrated switch panels configured for Police radio header units such as the Cleartone, Motorola, Sepura and Icom. It will also get mobile data terminals, video capture and multiple transceivers, seamlessly into the vehicle’s interior without the need for custom trim installations, a range of LED lightbars, headlamp flash, grille lights, bumper interceptor lights and rear reds.

We rarely hear about Vauxhall at this time but when we do hear about them, they sure know how to get noticed.
Opel’s sister manufacturer will be hosting the Vauxhall Ice Skate event in London on January 28 and they’re bringing with them a gigantic snow globe that comes with at least 50 bags of artificial snow and a real Vauxhall Astra inside.
The snow globe, which is enormous by any stretch of the imagination, measures around 16 feet in diameter and is just one of the many attractions Vauxhall is bringing to their annual ice skating disco event.
Apart from the giant snow glove, the British carmakers are also scheduled to display their very own Gingerbread car and Corsa-inspired karaoke machine, which they appropriately dubbed as the ‘Car-aoke Corsa’.
There’s no telling what other kooky creations Vauxhall has in store for the ice skating event but judging from what they’ve already shown with the giant snow globe, we’re thinking that they may have a few more surprises under their sleeves.
Vauxhall revealed the new Astra ecoFLEX, the most fuel efficient model in Astra range. The model will go on sale this April at a price of £17,920.
The Astra ecoFLEX is powered by a 1.3 CDTi 95PS diesel engine mated to a five-speed transmission with new ratios to optimise economy. The result is a combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg and a CO2 emission of just 109g/km.

For those of you who have problems with parallel parking, there’s now a simple formula that you can follow to make even the trickiest parking dilemmas look like a walk in the park.
For you to understand it though, requires a strong grasp of Mathematics.
Worked on and formulated by Vauxhall Motors, in collaboration with Professor Simon Blackburn from the University of London’s Royal Holloway College, this formula will allow you to calculate your parallel parking endeavors by first using the radius of a car’s turning circle and the distance between the vehicle’s front and back wheels. Using the length of the car’s nose and the width of an adjacent car the formula can tell exactly how big a space needs to be for your car to fit.

You might wonder why these Fiat 500s would be a boon to student driver when all you have to do is, well, to not crash the car. Well, studies have shown that one of the hardest parts of a driving test is parallel parking, which we figure the Fiat 500 won’t have any problems with that.
The BSM’s recent tie-up with Fiat has resulted in the driving school acquiring over 14,000 Fiats with most of them being the 500 model.
