Vector will unveil at Los Angeles Auto Show an ultra-super-exotic vehicle named WX-8 Hyper-Tech Performance Vehicle. Vector wants to break a few world records with their latest creation, including 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph and also the top speed record.

The Vector Avtech WX8 is powered by a transverse, supercharged, all aluminum, 7.0 Liter (427 cubic inch), port fuel injected, 16 valve high-performance V8 engine, with dual air to air intercoolers and twin sequential flow, side mounted radiators. The Supercharged engine has horsepower potential to 1200+hp. The normally aspirated version, is in the range of 600 to 700 hp. Vector claims the car can reach a top speed of 260-270 mph and makes the 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.

The all new aerodynamic high down-force WX3 body incorporates both hard edge and soft design features including: huge integrated inlet and exhaust ducts for heat exchangers, an extended tail with a high mounted, low drag symmetrical inverted high down-force airfoil wing spoiler that enhances high speed stability with aeroflaps.

The 2008 Vector A-WX8 is scheduled at a very limited number of
units per year, with an anticipated sales, price to be determined by the Company and its dealer network.

Vector Avtech WX8 is so cute on its platform design and styling. The front seems like a tame shark its so cool!I like all features and I think the performance of this car is great also.

Wow! What an awesome performance from this car! It can surely beat the Veyron, Mustang, and Shelby! Wew. 1200 HP? I wonder how did Vector made it. Well, I’m pretty sure that it is expensive because of the performance it produces.

Really, this just makes me sad. I guess I am a "car freak of a certain age," as I vividly recall all the early ’80s press around the original W2.

Well,I have to ask myself ,-Do I need a 2000 horsepower car or even a 750 h.p car.?—probably not.Do I want one?—HELL YES!---I have been a Fan of the Vector since I saw it on the cover of ’’SUPER AUTO Illustrated" back in sept.1985. and every year after that hoping to see he car go into production.—I don’t think most people have any idea how hard it is to build a production car much less one that will sell in the U.S. but Jerry Wiegert did it!—I can’t imagine how hard it was to work on getting his dream into producton only to get screwed out of it in the end by "MEGA-TECH".—I would probably have had to go to prison after that hostile takeover!---I’m glad to see the Vector back.—I love the updates. as far as the lofty performance goals?—the technology is there!—My advise to Mr.Wiegert.—stay on top of the quality control. If you want Bugatti prices the car has to be top notch fit and finish. incorporate the American flag into the emblem to let the world know that your back!—I think I speak for a lot of Vector fans that were glad to see the Vector back! and what it represents.—The return of the American supercar!—Good luck and Gods speed!—We can’t wait to see the finished car!

I’m always very incredulous about cars that make the claim that they can do 255+, such as the Barabus TKR for instance. But of ALL the cars scheduled to come out in the next 12 months or so, I think this is the one I would most-readily believe to be a true contender. I know Wiegart has always been an ultra-super-hyper-optimistic type of guy, but one has to remember that he made a W8 from 1992 do 242mph (on the salt flats though, mind you). He’s had a LOT of time since he lost the company to Megatech, and he’s definitely got the background in aerodynamics to make something that could possibly do it. It is certainly far from the prettiest car, but when you look at it you can just SEE the downforce on it, and if he’s going to be dropping an (being conservative here) 1050-1100bhp engine into a car that light, well... no telling. It wouldn’t surprise me if it could do 260-265, but considering Vector’s past, it would surprise me if it didn’t explode soon after =P If it wasn’t for what I KNOW will be a lot of automotive problems and sub-par handling this might have been my new fav.
