The Volkswagen Golf is one of the most popular models in the company’s lineup. To make it even better, the automaker has decided to replace the SE and the SE Navigation trims with a better, value-for-money variant, dubbed Match edition. However, these changes are limited to the U.K. market for the time being.

What Makes the 2019 Volkswagen Golf Match Edition Special?

Basically, the Match edition costs around £1,000 (~$1,262) more than the outgoing cheapest SE trim. But the extra £1,000 (~$1,262) offers you front fog lights, new ‘Woodstock’ alloy wheel design, tinted windows and satellite navigation. In short, the Match edition is actually £300 (~$378) cheaper vis-a-vis the SE trim.

Even the Golf R and the Golf GTI Performance will benefit from this ‘graciousness.’ Features like Keyless entry, rear-view camera, dynamic chassis control, and lane- assist have been made standard on both models.

Indeed, it is the second-best selling car in the U.K. in 2018 and offering extra value through these equipment upgrades is sure to make it even more attractive.”

If you need something slightly more powerful, you can opt for the 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine that comes in two states of tune – 128 horses and 148 horses. If you’re looking for a diesel mill, you can go for the 1.6-liter TDI that churns out 113 horses or 2.0-liter TDI engine that develops 148 horses.

In terms of pricing, the Golf Hatchback Match edition will retail at £20,545 (~$25,919). The Golf Estate Match is priced at £22,385 (~$28,240), while the Golf SV Match will cost £22,745 (~$28,695). The diesel commands a premium of just £1,600 (~$2,019) over its petrol compatriot. The 2019 Volkswagen Golf is available to order now, and deliveries are expected to commence in January.
