2019 Volkswagen Atlas Adventure Concept
Volkswagen will be in attendance at the 2019 SEMA Auto Show, and it’s bringing with it a host of tricked-out SUVs that are built for the American outdoors. Arguably the coolest of these concepts is the Atlas Adventure Concept. It looks the part of an SUV that can handle itself in the Nevada desert with the kind of ease you won’t see from a lot of SUVs offered at SEMA. It comes with a menu of unique equipment, including a clever housing accommodation setup that should make it comfortable for you and yours to enjoy a good night’s sleep under the stars. The Volkswagen Atlas Adventure Concept is one of three Atlas concepts that will be on display at Volkswagen’s booth in the world’s biggest aftermarket auto show.
2018 Volkswagen Golf RLMS by APR
As far as modded cars at SEMA go, the Volkswagen Golf RLMS tuned up by APR seems to be one of the most amazing to appear in Las Vegas. The American tuner of everything Audi and Volkswagen took a year and a half to work on the Golf RLMS which evolved from the hot hatch into something you wouldn’t be afraid to put up against the Nissan GT-R R35. I am not joking. Based on the Golf R, this track-worthy Golf RLMS by APR takes a unique approach to hatchback tuning. An approach I am inclined to call - “let’s make the best freaking hot-hatch.”
They’ve done it - and with so well calculated modifications that turned the Golf R into something a true Volkswagen enthusiast may call the Golf R536. Obviously, this is like my throwback to the Golf R400 super-hatch that had been crafted in the concept guise, but did not reach the production. Dieselgate was to be blamed.
Nevertheless, the R400 may be the first thing to pop into my mind upon seeing this, but this modded Golf RLMS by APR is much more than that.
2018 Volkswagen Jetta SEL Air Design USA
Volkswagen is bringing three Jetta sedans at the 2018 SEMA Auto Show. The flashiest of the three is the Air Design USA Jetta SEL, which takes its cues from all the accessories that Air Design offered for the sedan that was the rage back in the 1980s and 90s. The program is a perfect call back to those times, especially with the arrival of the A7 generation of the Jetta. The Volkswagen Air Design USA Jetta SEL takes its place at the SEMA Auto Show alongside H&R Special Springs Jetta R-Line and the decked out Jetta S by Jamie Orr.
2018 Volkswagen Jetta S by Jamie Orr
Well known Volkswagen enthusiast Jamie Orr thought of a fantastic project with Volkswagen of America - to build an awesome custom Volkswagen Jetta S in six weeks’ time and present it at this year’s SEMA. With the photos of his astounding Jetta bathing the fields of social networks all around the world, I am here to tell you about the tiresome, but fun six-week voyage Orr had to take to finish this project. Right now, the White Silver Jetta S is exposed at the SEMA Motor Show, and it showcases a wide array of aftermarket parts. Orr was directly involved with the development of these parts as they basically did not exist six weeks ago. Not in their physical form, not as 3D rendering pieces on a PC, or even as ideas. Well, right now, they garnish the exterior of possibly the best car Volkswagen showcased at SEMA this year. This all-involving project was focused on crafting aftermarket pieces from the ground up.
2019 Volkswagen Jetta R-Line by H&R Special Springs
H&R Special Springs has been in the business of sports springs and dampers for decades and, from time to time, they bring a car to the SEMA Show as a moving display of their latest performance parts. This time, the Jetta R-Line received the H&R treatment, and it looks quite tasty.
The R-line sits in the middle of the current Jetta lineup with an MSRP of $22,945. It’s, as such, a budget commuter, but that doesn’t mean it forgoes build quality and performance. The seventh-generation compact sedan was chosen by three tuners as the starting point for their 2018 SEMA Show projects, one of them being H&R.
"Straight from the factory, the seventh-generation Jetta’s bold new design grabs people’s attention," said Robert Gal, Senior Manager, Performance & Accessories, Volkswagen Sales & Marketing. "The fact that this group of top tuners and customizers chose it as a canvas for their offerings and creativity is further testament to its appeal."
The German company’s modified Jetta features an eye-catching glossy Habanero orange paint with silver stripes on the sides, gunmetal gray wheels that sit adequately close to the wheel arches thanks to the H&R sporty suspension setup, and add-ons to the bumpers that enhance the car’s athletic appearance.
APR Is Bringing a Wild, 536-Horsepower Volkswagen Golf R to the SEMA
Don’t look now, but it’s been twenty years, and the Volkswagen Jetta GLI on MOMO’s booth at SEMA just might be pushing the envelope of “retro.” For enthusiasts who came of age in the late 1990s and early 2000s, this MOMO-modified Jetta will seem like a throwback to days gone by. The aftermarket manufacturer celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and following that it’s hoping to increase its visibility in North America. To that end, the MOMO Edition Jetta GLI is heading to SEMA.
Ironically, the MOMO Edition Jetta stands out by following the template set forth by a legion of water-cooled Volkswagens throughout the 1990s. It’s got large wheels, a slammed stance, subtle graphics hinting at the modifications beneath the skin, and of course an aftermarket roof rack. The upgrades look just as natural on the new 2016 Jetta GLI as they would on a 1996 Jetta GLI.
MOMO refers to the upgraded Jetta GLI as “OEM-plus,” relying on established aftermarket companies for the performance upgrades. The wheels and steering wheel, of course, are by MOMO, and you can expect them to be available in the upcoming year as part of the legendary wheel manufacturer’s new product push.

Volkswagen Jetta is a fairly boring family car, and it’s typically not classified as a "Racer’s Dream." However, for the 2013 SEMA Show, Volkswagen, in cooperation with FMS Automotive, built the ultimate performance Jetta and dubbed the converted econo-box the Jetta Racer’s Dream concept.
The most amazing thing about this concept is its new 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. In its base setup, this four-cylinder engine lays down 210 horsepower, but FMS added a Stage 3+ Turbo Kit that boosts the output to more than double its stock output. With 425 horsepower in tow, FMS also had to strengthen the mechanics by adding in APR rods, wristpins and performance pistons. An APR carbon-fiber cold-air intake system and an intercooler chip in to provide the turbo with a nice helping of cool air.
Because we are talking about a car developed for track use, the new Jetta Racer’s Dream also received an H&R Street coil-over suspension system, H&R Sport anti-roll bars, 19-inch TSW Jerez wheels with chrome lips wrapped in Nitto NT-05 Z-rated tires and a Brembo brake kit with four-piston calipers and cross-drilled rotors.
We think it’s safe to say that this is no goring family sedan.

Volkswagen couldn’t miss the 2013 SEMA Show, so it’s heading to Las Vegas with a series of customized Jetta sedans.
One of these Jetta models is a tribute to the 1989 Helios Special Edition Jetta GLI. As a reminder, the Helios Edition was built on the MKII Jetta, and VW limited it to just 1,500 units. The very special thing about this car was its Helios Blue paint that, depending on the light, could look navy, black or purple.
The special edition in Las Vegas features the same blue and black paint scheme, but it adds an aggressive body kit from FMS Automotive. This kit includes custom side moldings, a new rear spoiler and side mirrors all painted to match the Helios blue and black paint theme.
Under the hood, the Jetta GLI Helios Special Edition carries the all-new 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-pot that produces 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.
The model will be on display from November 5th to 8th at Volkswagen’s booth in SEMA.

The Volkswagen Beetle has always been a favorite choice for tuners from all around the world, a place it shares with cars like the Mustang and the Nissan Skyline. For people who weren’t fans of the cutesy, curvaceous ’97 Beetle, there were tuners to the rescue. Replacing the modest 1.8L engine with bigger, more powerful engines, more aggressive body parts, and custom paint jobs, these tuners were able to bring the best out of the Beetle that could impress any type of audience, unlike the stock example. In brief, the VW Beetle and the performance aftermarket are good acquaintances.
So, it’s no surprise that we witnessed a swarm of tuned Bugs attacking the 2012 SEMA Auto Show. From radical creations like the chopped-top custom bug to the 500-hp all-wheel-drive ’Super Beetle,’ these tuned bugs are ready to swarm the SEMA floor with pure awesomeness.

Wow, VW hit SEMA really hard this year, especially with the Beetle. Pretty much every model of Beetle that was heading to SEMA – Rotiform Beetle, Beach-Battle Cruiser Beetle, and the Super Beetle – were all readily available with images, but the Chopped Beetle by Gaplin Auto Sports was not, for some reason.
Well, GAS has just released an image of this chop-top Beetle and some extra information. It is based on the 2013 VW Beetle Turbo, which means it features a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a 6-speed transmission. There’s no mention of any additions to the engine, so we assume that it remains bone stock.
On the outside, GAS doused it with an Onyx Black base coat and accented the sides with Candy Apple Red metal-flake paint, giving it an awesome look. GAS then took to the top of the Beetle, hacking 5.5 inches off of the A-pillar and 2.5 inches off of the B-pillar, giving it that classic chop-top look, while retaining the classic humped roofline.
Adding to its bespoke look, GAS deleted the rear windows and added in rear air scoops in their place. If you have seen rodded beetles that retain their rear-mounted engines, this is a very common modification to get a little more airflow to the engine. Given this is a front-mounted engine, it’s just there for show.
Adding to its style is a set of 20-inch, 3-piece Forgiattos handmade rims. GAS them topped off the outside by adding tint to the headlights and taillights, giving this already sinister- and vintage-looking Beetle a little more darkness.
On the inside, the vintage treatment continued, as GAS tossed in vintage-style black leather that features red accent stitching. The headliner is dyed to match the vintage cow hide on the rest of the interior. Wrapping the inside and outside together, GAS painted the interior trim panels and dashboard with the same Candy Apple Red metal flake that sets off the exterior. We are still awaiting images of the interior and we will get them to you ASAP.
Overall, we think this was well worth the delay in getting the images, we just wish it had a little something extra under the hood.
The Volkswagen Golf R showed up to the 2012 SEMA Auto Show with the help of the fine folks of H&R Springs.
For their take on this Golf R, H&R Springs took the liberty of decking it out with a comprehensive program that really reflects on their capabilities as an aftermarket company.
It’s no secret that H&R Springs have the innate skill to not only complete a program like this, but to make it stand out from the rest of its peers. That was the mission with this program and they’ve certainly taken it to heart.
From the subtle exterior and interior improvements to the comprehensive chassis and suspension upgrades, H&R Springs really went out of their way to build a program for the Golf R that translates in any language, whether here in the US or over there in Europe.

A multitude of Volkswagen Beetles will be on hand at the 2012 SEMA Auto Show to show off a variety of custom programs for the iconic vehicle.
One of these models is called the Beetle "Beach Battle-Cruiser" by European Car Magazine. The surf-inspired Beetle has everything you need to make your day at the beach run as smoothly as possible. It comes with all the amenities for weekend runs in the sand, including a roof rack where you can place surfboards and other beach paraphernalia.
The California-looking Bug also gets a slew of exterior updates, including a unique body kit by FMS Automotive that has a deployable shower system. You read that right: this Beetle has its own shower. Moving into more salient upgrades, the Beetle Beach Battle-Cruiser also received a new set of 19" CustomFuchs Performance wheels wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact DW tires and a revamped interior with Katzkin leather seats featuring a midnight black color with matching military green suede inserts.
The Beetle Beach Battle-Cruiser also comes with a performance upgrade, which isn’t all that surprising considering the nature of the event it’s going to. Revo Technik took the lead in this front, adding its own turbocharger into the Beetle’s 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine. With the turbocharger, as well as the addition of a new intake and exhaust system, as well as the cursory software upgrade, the Beetle Beach Battle-Cruiser is now capable of producing a mouth-watering 400 horsepower.

Wheels manufacturer Rotiform is bringing their own custom take on everyone’s favorite little hatchback, the Volkswagen Beetle, to the 2012 SEMA Auto Show.
For their program, Rotiform decided to integrate the Beetle’s heritage and add a more modern look to it. The company accomplished this by combining custom touches from the past through today, beginning with the installation of an all-new rear axle to accommodate the similarly new air suspension system from AirLift.
Once they accomplished this, Rotiform fitted the Beetle with its very own set of new - and very red - concave wheels, which were then wrapped in Nitto performance tires. Moving on from the suspension and wheels upgrades, the Beetle was also treated to a matte gray aluminum vinyl wrap courtesy of 3M and a retooled interior that saw plenty of the vehicle’s standard factory pieces replaced with parts from other available trims.
The last order of business for Rotiform was to shave the engine bay to give the Beetle a much smoother look. In the end, the aftermarket company accomplished what it set out to do: build a classic-looking Beetle that carries modern touches.
Mission accomplished, we should say.
The Volkswagen Beetle is one of those cars that people either love or hate. It has a style that not everyone can really grasp in a positive way, which is evident in the lack of tuning packages developed for the economy car during its history. That being said, the new Beetle is attempting to gain momentum with a slew of new tuning packages scouring the show floor of the 2012 SEMA Show. One of these packages comes from VWvortex and is being dubbed the ultimate Super Beetle.
At first glance, the suped up Beetle doesn’t appear to have any super powers. It features a matte Azure Blue Metallic vinyl film and sits on a new set of 19" fifteen52 three-piece Split Formula TR wheels. The interior was only provided with new Recaro Sportster CS seats, and that’s it.
Under the hood is when the super powers start to show themselves. The SuperBeetle was co-developed with performance specialist APR and is based on a 2013 Beetle Turbo. The car’s standard 2.0 TSI engine has been updated with an APR Stage IV GTX Turbocharger System that boosts the output from 200 to more than 500 HP! This setup is combined with a high-performance intercooler system, as well as a host of Stage IV components including, an ECU upgrade and a new APR RSC Turboback Exhaust System. In order to improve the car’s traction, the tuner also installed a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system from the limited-edition Golf R and an upgraded Haldex all-wheel drive race controller.
That kind of power deserves a more grounded look, so the car was lowered with an H&R Adjustable Coilover Suspension combined with Volkswagen Racing StreetSport+ Camber Plates and H&R Sport Sway Bars.
Anyone sitting next to this car at a stoplight is sure to think this is just another yuppy Beetle, but as soon as the green hits, all systems are go! Unfortunately, this will not be experienced by anyone as the cars displayed in SEMA will only be trashed after the event. Anyone looking to get in on this action better give the folks at APR-VWvortex a holler. Maybe they’ll work something out...
