Caterham Cars was founded back in 1973, which means that 2023 will mark the company's 50th anniversary. As an ahead celebration of the event, the company launched two new models: Super Seven 600 and Super Seven 2000. They were built to pay tribute to Caterham’s early "Super Sevens" models introduced in the 1970s and produced until the 1980s. While they might look the same, the 600 is built for those who want to enjoy a driving experience but at a lower speed, while the 2000 aims for those that want to enjoy faster speeds.

The two models are two different beasts. The Super Seven 600 is offered with the same engine found in the Seven 170: a 660 cc Suzuki turbo engine that delivers 84 horsepower and 86 pound-feet of torque. This tiny version goes from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and can hit a shy 105 mph. A five-speed manual transmission is also offered as standard.

On the other hand, the Super Seven 2000 is closely related to Seven 360, and it is offered with the same Ford Duratec 1999cc, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. It delivers a total of 180 horsepower and 143 pound-feet of torque and is also mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This version, however, is a little bit faster: it goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and can hit a top speed of 130 mph. Both models can be ordered with a limited-slip differential, while the 2000 model can be optioned with a sport suspension package. It adds a rear anti-roll bar and adjustable platforms, plus front ventilated discs with quad-piston calipers.

An Exterior And Interior Inspired By The Classic Models

There is no doubt that the two new models look like any other Caterham cars, but they will get a few distinctive elements. First, both will get flared front wings inspired by the Super Seven 1600, Sprint, Super Sprint, and other models of the 1970 & 80s. The company is also offering four exclusive finishes never offered on any other Seven: Bourbon, Ashdown Green, Windsor Blue, and Fawn. Next to them, you could also choose the usual Gravity Black, Exocet Red, Vintage Green, and Firecracker Yellow. The Super Seven 600 rides on 14-inch silver Juno wheels, while the Super Seven 2000 is offered with 14-inch Classic wheels. Both models will be offered with Avon ZT7 tires and you can opt for Gold, Body, or custom-colored finish for the wheels. As a final touch, both cars will offer polished exhaust pipes and LED rear lights.

Changes on the inside will be limited and will only include a black leather Moto-Lita steering wheel, plus the chance to choose from a range of additional color options. The carpets, dashboard, leather seats, gearbox, and handbrake gaiters can be had in pretty much any color you can imagine, including Deep Red, Cream, Birch White, Burgundy, Ginger, Admirability Blue, and Biscuit Beige.
