2022 is almost over, but there's still time to get a gas-powered or diesel-powered Chevy. Chevrolet has been around for 111 years now, thanks to U.S. government subsidies. Chevy has a vehicle in pretty much every segment from subcompact to full-size SUVs or pickup trucks. It has a couple of EVs right now, but nothing compared to what is coming in the near future. When it comes to affordable vehicles, the sub $20,000 cars are all but dead in the U.S. The Chevy Spark is the last of the breed at $13,600. For SUVs and crossovers, though, Trax is at the bottom of the chain, starting at $21,495. If you are on a budget and looking for a truck or SUV, Chevy is one of your many options. Here's a list of all the crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks in its lineup in 2022.

9 Trax - $21,495

Chevrolet

The Chevy Trax is known for its bite-sized dimensions and its accessible starting price. Just as quickly as Chevy ended its run, the Trax returned as a brand-new model, featuring an eye-popping redesign, increased interior room, and improved safety features. Every Trax is a front-wheel drive powered by a 137-horsepower, turbocharged, three-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic. It borrows this powertrain from the smaller Trailblazer; while its styling inspirations are from the midsize Blazer. The new Trax will continue be built at GM's South Korea factory. The 2024 Trax is expected to be available by the spring of 2023.

8 Trailblazer - $23,295

2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer ACTIV parked
Chevrolet

The Trailblazer is a smaller, less expensive alternative to Chevy's Blazer, offering a roomy cabin in a package that is easier to park. A 137-horsepower 1.2-liter three-cylinder is standard, and the optional 155-horsepower 1.3-liter can be had for extra moolah. Front-wheel-drive models get the Continuous Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT), but four-wheel-drive models get the smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic exclusively. Unfortunately, both powertrains push the Trailblazer as hard as a recalcitrant Great Pyrenees. Front-drive Trailblazers equipped with less-powerful motors get EPA-estimated 33 miles per gallon highway. That is lower than the most affordable subcompact SUVs, like the Kia Soul and the Nissan Kicks. With five more cubic feet of interior volume than the Trax, the Trailblazer's tall roofline can easily fit adults into the back seats. And, for those with more gear, the front passenger seat folds backward, helping maximize the utility of the Trailblazer's flat cargo floor.

7 Equinox - $27,995

Chevrolet

The Equinox is categorized as a compact SUV. However, there is nothing condensed about it. It features a whopping 63.9 cubic feet of cargo volume with the back seats folded down. In the back seat, passengers have 38.5 inches of legroom, 39.9 inches of shoulder room, and 55.5 inches of hip room. Chevy features standard safety features like front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, emergency braking, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning. The 2023 Equinox features a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. It can tow a maximum of 3500 pounds when properly equipped. The fuel mileage is 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Chevy offers four trims for the equinox: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. The Equinox will also be offered as an EV in the near future.

6 Colorado - $28,105

Chevrolet

After seven years with the same old Colorado, Chevy’s midsize pickup truck is entering its third generation in 2023, featuring a brand-new model that grows in width, wheelbase, and maturity. Colorado will run solely on the turbocharged 2.7-liter straight-four engine and an eight-speed automatic. Horsepower and torque vary depending on the trim, starting at the 237-horsepower base engine all the way to the 310-horsepower high-output version in ZR2 with muscular 430 pound-feet of torque. The interior is the central area of refinement, including an expansive new 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard equipment. No matter what job it does, Colorado now has the edge over the rest of its elders in the aging medium-size class, like the Toyota Tacoma, the Ford Ranger, and the Honda Ridgeline, both for horsepower and technology.

5 Traverse - $35,615

2022 Chevy Traverse High Country parked
Chevrolet

If you’re shopping for a mid-size three-row SUV, the Traverse is one of the best offerings on the market in 2022. It comes in six trims (if you count LT Leather as a trim). All trims feature a V-6 engine that offers 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. They come standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is optional. Every Traverse is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Traverse offers quick acceleration thanks to all this. It has a maximum towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. The AUV really shines in terms of space; it has a max cargo volume of 98.2 cubic feet with the back seats folded away. The front row offers 41.01 inches of legroom, the second row offers 38.41 inches, and the third row 33.48 inches. Overall it is an attractive alternative to a minivan.

4 Silverado - $35,845

Blue Chevy Silverado parked
Chevrolet

America’s number three truck, Chevy Silverado, is known for being a workhorse. A turbocharged 310-horsepower four-cylinder, twin V-8s, and a 495-pound-feet-of-torque Duramax turbodiesel fill out the Silverado's broad powertrain offerings. While a 6.2-liter V-8 rated at 420 horsepower, sharp steering, and great feedback from the brake pedal make for brief bursts of Corvette cosplay, the Silverado's occasionally choppy ride is enough to shake you out of that dream pretty quickly. A conservative interior design with mediocre materials quality is counterbalanced by a giant infotainment screen, although this hardware is available only in certain trim levels. The Silverado's maximum towing capability, at 13,300 pounds is higher than that of its sister pickup, the GMC Sierra 1500, and the Ram 1500 but lower than that of the Ford F-150. Chevy also offers it in an off-road avatar. In short, it is a very competitive pickup. The electric version of the truck was showcased in early 2022, and it will make its debut in the future.

3 Blazer - $36,495

2023 Chevrolet Blazer RS parked
Chevrolet

The 2023 Chevy Blazer is a midsize, two-row SUV that caters to folks who love driving and who want to be behind the wheel of something with some character. While it has generous amounts of cargo and passenger space, its interior materials are of a quality different from similar-priced competitors such as the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Kia Sorento. Some of the Blazer's best options are also reserved for the more expensive models, affecting its value proposition against its more desirable classmates. It features front-wheel drive and either the 228-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder or 308-horsepower V-6. Both engines are available with four-wheel drive, but the quicker acceleration of the six-cylinder, as well as its ability to haul up to 4,500 pounds, is superior. Chevy has already announced the 2024 Blazer EV, an all-electric SUV.

2 Tahoe - $55,995

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe parked
Chevrolet

With plenty of interior room and cargo for the passengers, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe is large in every sense you would like, yet feels nimbler on the road compared with other large SUVs. There are three engine options available. The base engine is a 355-horsepower V-8, but the beefy 420-horsepower V-8 is a mere checkbox away from the ordering form. Unlike in past generations of Tahoe, a diesel-powered six-cylinder straight-six is also available now. Three-row seating is standard, and even the base LS trim comes equipped with the popular infotainment and driver-assistance features. Off-roaders will find the Z71 model better suited to their interests since it includes a ten-speed transmission, an adjustable air suspension, and chunky, all-terrain tires. A fancier experience is available with the more expensive Premier and High Country models.

1 Suburban - $58,695

2023 Chevrolet Suburban parked
Chevrolet

Did you know that the Suburban is 87 years old and is now in its 12th generation? The hulking, body-on-frame full-size SUV continues to offer three rows, seating for up to eight passengers, and plenty of towing capability. A 355-horsepower V-8 (5.3-liter) is standard, with the option of an optional turbodiesel inline-six making 277 horsepower and a 6.2-liter V-8 making 420 horsepower. All engines are linked to a 10-speed, mind-bending automatic, and they come equipped with rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. Suburban cargo room is vast, 20 cubic feet more than Jeep Wagoneers, which have an advantage thanks to the folding third-row seat. An available air suspension allows Suburbans to roll over paved surfaces comfortably. The styling and materials inside are trite, but at least the 10.2-inch touchscreen handles climate control and navigation with speed and articulation.
