CFMoto is quickly establishing itself as a capable motorcycle manufacturer, thanks to its extensive lineup. What it lacks, however, is a performance-oriented motorcycle, and this is exactly what the Chinese giant aims to fix with its upcoming streetfighter. The patent applications of the said motorcycle - likely called the 1250 NK - have surfaced on the internet, and the leaked data makes it a direct competitor to the lauded Aprilia Tuono V4 1100. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming CFMoto.

The CFMoto 1250 NK Will Flaunt An Aggressive Design

CFMoto excels at motorcycle design, and the upcoming 1250 NK will take this to a new level. The patent filings reveal an uber-aggressive motorcycle, complete with edgy elements from head to toe. For instance, the front half flaunts a projector-equipped V-shaped headlight accompanied by an aerodynamic front fender and muscular tank shrouds. This is complemented by an even sharper tail end that features an MV Agusta Brutale-like raised seat flanked by aerodynamic scoops on the sides.

Overall, the design seems like a bigger, better iteration of the recently leaked CFMoto 800 NK, which makes sense, since the two motorcycles will form part of the company’s new premium naked lineup. Meanwhile, the design will be topped by a massive instrument cluster, expected to be a TFT unit. The display will likely feature smartphone connectivity and an array of rider aids to keep a leash on the powerful naked.

CFMoto Will Employ A 1,279cc V-Twin

Speaking of power, the 1250 NK will feature a 1,279cc, V-twin engine, inspired by the KTM 1290 Super Duke’s 1,301cc, V-twin. This mill already does duty in the CFMoto 1250 TR-G tourer where it whips out a respectable 141 horsepower. However, the NK has a redesigned exhaust system, headers, and air box, all of which point toward more horsepower. Plus, the 1250 NK’s exhaust route is just like the 1290 Super Duke which, if anything, further hints at more braap.

Engine aside, the patent filings also give an insight into the streetfighter’s underpinnings. The motorcycle is built around a trellis chassis with a bolt-on alloy subframe. Upside-down forks and monoshock handle the suspension duties, while a single-sided swingarm adds a premium touch to the mix. The brakes - twin front discs and single rear disc - are nothing out of the ordinary, though.

The 1250 NK Will Debut In 2024

Since CFMoto is yet to confirm the 1250 NK, we expect it to debut no sooner than next year. The company generally previews a near-production concept before the actual product, and it’ll likely present the 1250 NK’s concept at the 2023 EICMA, followed by a mid-2024 launch. Plus, CFMoto already has the 800 NK locked and loaded for a global launch which was presented at last year’s EICMA, dubbed the ‘NK-22’. Judging from these filings, we think CFMoto might have a chance against established manufacturers.
