A McLaren P1 and Senna Pull Up to the Drag Strip and the Results Are Surprising

There’s still one true king among McLarens in a drag race

If you had a choice between two McLarens to go toe-to-toe in a drag race, the obvious candidates are clear. The McLaren P1 and the McLaren Senna are two of the most powerful cars in the British automaker’s portfolio and the question on which of the two is faster on a drag strip has been asked by a lot of people.

McLaren hasn’t given the people what they want, but that’s all moot now. Here’s a video of the two McLarens finally coming together for a nice ol’ drag race, and the results are pretty surprising, to say the least.

2020 Rivian R1S

2020 Rivian R1S

An accomplished SUV that will hide in the shadows of its pickup twin in all likelihood

Does Rivian need any introduction? Arguably the most exciting startup to have emerged after Tesla, Rivian has put itself on the map with two products – the R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV – that are slated for a launch in the latter half of 2020. The Michigan-based startup debuted the R1S at the 2018 LA Auto Show. The Rivian twins have pretty much been in the news ever since then. Rivian is touted to be the next big thing in the EV industry, and from the looks of it, it could actually give Tesla a run for its money in the pickup truck and SUV market.

2019 Was a Bad Year For Aston Martin and At Least One Model is Paying the Price

2019 Was a Bad Year For Aston Martin and At Least One Model is Paying the Price

With slumping sales comes a cost-cutting program that could change everything

Despite the introduction of the DBX, 2019 was a very tough year for Aston Martin, which posted a pre-tax loss of $118 million through September of 2019. Now, Aston Martin has warned that its annual profit for 2019 will be cut in half, while Reuters is reporting that December sales were so disappointing that wholesale volumes dropped by seven percent in 2019. All told, annual profits for 2019 (converted from GBP to USD) will sit between about $170 million and $182 million - a far cry from the company’s $325 million profit in 2018.

Financial figures being what they are, that means there are going to be some big financial changes for the company in 2020, including a cost-cutting program that puts at least one model on the guillotine.

2020 Novitec N-Largo McLaren 720S Spider

Go ahead, right-click your favorite picture and set it as your wallpaper

The N-Largo tuning program from Novitec has reached its fair share of speed demons, especially of the Lamborghini and McLaren ilk. In fact, it was only last year when the 720S Coupé was submitted to the treatment.

Well, it looks like the German tuner isn’t showing signs of cutting down on that practice, because its latest concoction is a wide-body Macca 720S Spider that wears the said N-Largo attire. And it looks a lot like the convertible Senna we’re never going to get, which ultimately shouldn’t raise many eyebrows as the Senna is largely based on the 720S in the first place. Let’s check it out.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Just Proved Itself Against the Ferrari 812 Superfast and Porsche 911 GT3 RS: Video

Ford really nailed it with the new Shelby GT500

Ford did a lot of things right with the Mustang Shelby GT500. It updated the Voodoo 5.2-liter V-8 used by the Shelby GT350 with a 2.65-liter supercharger, ditched the innovative flat-plane crank design of the GT350, and went for a more traditional cross-plane crankshaft, all while considerably upping the power output.

Plus, we don’t have to tell you just how much weight the Shelby name holds in the automotive industry. Then again, so does Ferrari. Or Porsche. However, as you’re about to see, that wasn’t enough to throw off the Shelby GT500.

What If the New Ford Bronco Looked Like This?

We think this is pretty much the 2020 Ford Bronco’s final design

2020 is the year that will finally give us the new Ford Bronco, after countless rumors and information leaks that preceded Ford’s decision to revive the moniker it killed in 1996.

2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0

2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0

The naturally aspirated flat-six makes a comeback!

The 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is an upcoming, naturally aspirated version of the existing 718 Cayman. An update of the current 718 Cayman GTS, the GTS 4.0 ditches the turbocharged, 2.5-liter flat-four engine in favor of a 4.0-liter flat-six mill. The engine is shared with the range-topping 2020 718 Cayman GT4, but detuned in order to slot the GTS 4.0 a bit lower in the lineup.

This sports car has yet to be confirmed for production, but it was spotted testing in the wild in early 2020. The 2021 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is expected to hit dealerships for the 2021 model year. Let’s find out more about it in the speculative review below.

The 1986-1993 A70-gen Toyota Supra might not be as famous as the 1993-2002 A80 Toyota Supra – you can probably thank the Fast and Furious franchise for that – but both were awesome cars and sporty in their own right. 2020 Hyundai Flying Taxi

Uber and Hyundai pledge to fly users over traffic-choked cities

Every year, the topic of flying cars, VTOLs, and autonomous air taxis comes into discussion, usually around the same time as CES unravels in Las Vegas. 2020 was no exception, because Hyundai Motor and Uber had big news to share: the two companies have agreed on a partnership that would permit the development and use of Uber Air Taxis as the pivotal part of an aerial ride share network.

Uber’s plans for airborne rides are perhaps best described by CEO Dara Khosrowshahi words. He believes that the future of transportation has to be shared, electric, and in three dimensions, and that plenty of big cities around the world will want to be a part of the initiative. Let’s see how that reflects in the freshly-sealed Uber-Hyundai deal.
