These Wireless Ear Buds Are Powered By Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
They’re approved by The Rock so that must mean something, right?by Tudor Rus, on
Alright, where do we start with this. Here we go: you probably know who The Rock is from the plethora of Hollywood action movies he’s starred in. Those of you who hold the status of gym rat also know The Rock is a long-time inhabitant of the Iron Paradise - what’s Dwayne Johnson dialect for "gym" in case you were wondering. So he knows pretty much everything there is to know about gym etiquette. He also put that knowledge into a pair of gym-ready wireless ear buds.
What is Project Rock?
Project Rock is the most recent collabo between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Under Armour, and JBL. One of the end results of this partnership saw the unveiling of the so-called, "highly-anticipated" Project Rock True Wireless In-Ear Headphones. We know, way too long a name, doesn’t matter - we’ll just call them ear buds if that’s OK with you.
Here’s how Under Armour describes them:
"These state-of-the-art in-ear headphones were built for the grind. Made specifically to stay in place as you move, these buds are durable, sweat proof, and offer continuous play that lasts for five hours, meaning that they will never slow you down while you’re powering up."
Project Rock Wireless Ear Buds - Design
Marketing blah-blah aside, the headphones are fitted with Under Armour Storm tech which is inspired by the brand’s element-proof accessories. In other words, they’re rated IPX7. Moreover, thanks to Under Armour TALKTHRU, you don’t have to take them off to have a conversation. In fact, all you need to do is press the brahma bull on the side, which also acts as a button. This will activate the noise cancelling feature and you’ll be able to hear sounds that are coming from the outside.
You can also take calls with the Project Rock ear buds because they can connect to your device via Bluetooth and apparently, they’ve been a massive hit as at the time of writing, the product’s page on the UA shop says "the item is currently sold out." Now, we don’t know if they’re THAT good or just the fact that The Rock is promoting them boost sales, but as things stand at the moment, these ear buds are bestseller material.
Under Armour says the ear buds are good for a play time of around 5 hours, but the brand also offers an aluminum case fitted with a heavy-duty carabiner clip that can be used for charging the headphones on the go, allowing for around 20 additional hours of battery life.
Project Rock Wireless Ear Buds Price
The ear buds are priced at $199 but as we mentioned earlier, the UA online shop is out of stock. In case you’re not willing to wait, our advice would be to go for this pair of Project Rock full-size headphones available on Amazon. But if your mind’s set on the ear buds, know that you can preorder them using the Under Armour smartphone app.
