2017 - 2019 BMW K 1600 GT
BMW’s K 1600 GT moved into its seventh year of production in 2017 with a fresh rebuild that the Bayerische carries right on into MY2019. A six-cylinder engine puts it in the power-tourer category in both the torque and horsepower columns for solid performance even in spite of its not-inconsiderable heft. Built for touring, it strikes a balance between storage and aesthetics for a sort of “Euro-bagger” look that compares well with Honda’s new bagger-tastic Goldwing since both leave off the top case for their fully dressed, top-shelf models. This Bavarian bruiser brings a dark-and-swanky attitude to the table with the performance to back it up.
2018 - 2019 BMW K 1600 B
The bagger genre is a uniquely American phenomenon, and as such, it can be difficult to compete against the established domestic brands, but BMW does exactly that with its K 1600 B. At a glance, the “B” hits all the pertinent design high points, and under the hood, the thing is chock full of comfort and safety features to make the “B” capable of pulling double duty as a tour bike. If you’re into inches (no giggity), Beemer accommodates you with over a liter-and-a-half in its six-banger mill to make it capable of standing up to Honda’s Gold Wing — probably. So let’s dig into this Boulevard Bruiser and see how it actually compares to the hard data from Honda’s GW bagger.
2019 BMW R 1250 RT
BMW Motorrad hits MY2019 with the R 1250 RT as its spanky new super-tour bike. Why “super?” Well, it carries a newly refined boxer-twin that brings more mechanical yummy-goodness to the table, to include variable cam timing and staggered intake timing meant to broaden the powerband; and a combined engine/transmission case that eliminates some unnecessary weight from the assembly. As you’d expect, the electronics suite is pulled from the top shelf for the stock package, and unsurprisingly, the factory has optional packages available that introduce even more fandanglery to the situation and make the “RT” a proper technological marvel. It all comes together on an undeniably progressive machine with clear Euro-sport roots. Interest piqued yet? Mine too, so let’s get to it.

Top 10 Baggers of 2018
Baggers are nothing but motorcycles with large motors with plenty of low-end torque, forward set footpegs, and a laid-back reclined riding position defining any modern-day cruisers, with an addition of saddlebags. Meant for long distance travel, baggers maintain agility, an open feel, and classic motorcycle styling. In addition to the bags, they will often have windshields, partial fairing, a more comfortable seat, better suspension, larger tank, and forward controls.
Touring is synonymous with motorcycles; it’s an integral part of the riding experience. No other feeling satisfies a man’s desire for freedom, to head in a direction unknown. And if you don’t have the right tool to do it, the whole feeling just becomes uncanny. Here is our list of top ten baggers of 2018 touring the roads of the world:
BMW’s R1200 series to get a revamped powertrain for 2019. To be called R1250
Being the best-selling range of motorcycles for the Bavarian company, the GS legacy harks back close to 40 years, which was initiated with the R 80 GS back in 1980. Then there is the R1200RT, a sport touring motorcycle which has many at times been the bestselling model for BMW.
Currently, a 1170cc flat-twin boxer engine is the workhorse for both the flagship ADV motorcycle and is all set to receive some major updates for the 2019 year that is going to make it specked to Euro-V norms and also make more power without losing on any fuel efficiency. What’s the trick? It’s called VVT.

The race to the top is getting more fearsome every passing day, and the manufacturers are pulling out every little trick they have up their sleeves to make their product stand out from the rest.
BMW Motorrad is at the forefront of imagination, innovation, and technology and proof of that is their list of the finest motorcycles that set benchmarks for every other maker to chase it. Keeping the race alive, the German manufacturer has released a host of updates to its 2019 lineup, including its scooters, six-cylinder tourers, R NineT retro models, and the new adventure machines.
2018 BMW K 1600 B
Beemer brings its six-banger expertise and sense for the luxurious together in the K 1600 GT. It packs a whopping 160 horsepower onto a sled that benefits from dynamic suspension and ABS to name but a few of the comfort- and safety-oriented features. This highly-anticipated machine has been widely touted by the factory as having been built specifically for touring American roads, and as we all know, touring here means something entirely different than it does in Europe. Today I want to put this new Beemer head-to-head with another major import that is already entrenched in the battle for a slice of the non-American American tourbikes — the Gold Wing F6B from Honda. How will they stack up once the smoke has cleared?

The Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works, or simply BMW if you like) has proven time and again the quality of German motorcycle engineering since the early 20th century. Now operating as BMW Motorrad, the factory continues this legacy into the 21st century with the release of the BMW K 1600 GT, GTL and GTL Exclusive. Complete with the expected blend of luxurious, comfort-driven features and uncompromising performance, this ride is a perfect example of why Don Henley wrote, “I love those Bavarians, so meticulous.”

In 2004 and again in 2007 we watched Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman embark on their "Long Way" journeys on BMW GS Adventure motorcycles. Sure, they weren’t stock bikes, but how many of us are planning 15,000-mile trips through deserts, inhospitable countries and nearly impossible terrain? If we were, we would also go for tough metal panniers, an extended luggage rack to carry all our essential gear, a taller windscreen and specially adapted shock absorbers and headlights, just as they did. Of course, all those options are available to those of us planning trips within our own country.
The 2015 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is the latest model in the "Adventure" dynasty that arguably began with the GS 800 back in the early 1980s. New for 2015, the R 1200 GS Adventure has the BMW Motorrad Keyless Ride System, the Shift Assistant Pro, and not one, but two low suspension/seat lowering options available.
