Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are both stars in the new "Knight and Day" movie, released on June 23rd. But next to them there is another star: a Ducati Hypermotard, that is in fact an Aprilia SXV550 in disguise. Wait, what?
Aprilia is being used as a stunt bike, while Ducatti is used for low-speed rides. And how the Hypermotard is just to heavy and too fragile to pull off the stunts, the team opted to an Aprilia. So why hiding an Aprilia under a Ducatti skin? Maybe because Cruise really wanted to drive a Ducatti in the movie, who knows!

When he’s not filming for the movie Knight and Day or flirting with Cameron Diaz on a Ducati Hypermotard during breaks on the set, Tom Cruise seems to enjoy riding his very own Ducati Desmosedici and make the front page of both tabloids and motorcycle magazines.
Being only 5’ 7” inch tall, the actor and first US owner of a Ducati Desmosedici seems to manage with the big Italian supersport motorcycle very well and still look cool along the way.
Looking at these pictures, we just have to ask: does Tom Cruise make the Ducati Desmosedici look better or is it the other way around?
2006 MotoGP World Champion and Ducati’s latest recruit, Nicky Hayden has taken the time during the winter brake to help the Motorcycle Industry Council in the US promote safe riding among the nation’s armed forces.
The American pilot went to the Los Alamitos air base in Southern California to be part of a photo shoot to promote the safety campaign. The pictures (see the photo gallery) and video taken there will be used in all US armed forces bases in the US and across the globe as part of the safety campaign.
You’ve seen it racing on the track between 2003 and 2006 and now the time has come for it to be seen on the streets. No, it’s not Jay (although he’s riding), it’s the new Ducati Desmosedici RR that he just bought and has the pleasure of presenting to us today.
Take the short time and go through Jay’s brief history on Ducati bikes and then enjoy CEO’s Michael Lock presentation and the full test run I was talking about earlier. What a great bike! It really does miracles in the right hands of this “58 year old guy”.
