2020 Indian Motorcycle Jack Daniel's Limited Edition Indian Springfield Dark Horse

2020 Indian Motorcycle Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition Indian Springfield Dark Horse

America’s oldest companies creating limited-edition exquisite motorcycles celebrating craftsmanship

In 2016, Indian Motorcycles and Jack Daniels, two legendary American brands joined forces to commemorate JD’s 150th anniversary of the Jack Daniel Distillery, which was registered in 1866. This occasion led to Indian Motorcycles building a very limited number of the Jack Daniel’s Indian Chief Vintage, and the Scout motorcycle models, all of which were sold barely under 8 hours within the launch.

For 2020, the same stalwarts came together again to produce yet another limited edition of the iconic spin-off of the sumptuousness Indian Springfield Dark Horse. Limited to 177 examples, this Springfield gets reworked by Klock Werks Kustom Cycles and is themed after JD’s high- baller, the Jack Daniel’s Single Bar Select.

The New Thunder Stroke 116 Engine Is One Of The Most Powerful Production Engines Out There

Indian Motorcycle is proving to be quick to capitalize on popular products, and the 2020 Springfield Dark Horse is yet another example that drives the point home. The Springfield Dark Horse seeks to ride on the success of the Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition model that made such a splash at Daytona this year. Bad-boy blackout is a constant throughout the paint packages up for grabs this year, as are the factory-custom touches that set this model apart from the crowd. Best of all, Indian powers it with the brand-new Thunder Stroke 116 that boosts power and performance even further with over 120 pound-feet of torque on tap.

It’s Among The Least Expensive Of Indian’s Baggers

Indian Motorcycle cashes in on its deep design roots with the Springfield model that hit the market in ’16 and has been carried over into the 2019 model year with nary but a few adjustments to the color palette. Power comes from Indian’s largest production engine along with ABS and keyless ignition on board, but it’s the classic, old-school bagger looks that drive sales of this particular unit. Best of all, it’s among the least expensive of the available baggers, and that positions it well within the boulevard-bruiser/light-tour categories.

Ride-Enhancement Features Turn This Antique Design Into An Entirely Modern Machine

Indian Motorcycle spruced up its Springfield Dark Horse ahead of MY2019 with some aesthetic tweaks that set it apart from the previous versions, but the factory didn’t stop there. It added some all-new electronic tech in the form of a few ride-enhancement features that turn this antique design into an entirely modern machine. Indian’s deep roots are on full display with this one to make it a tribute piece of sorts, and if you’re into designs from around World War II, then the Dark Horse has a lot to offer.

Chose to either be ’Evil’ or ’Sane’

First out in the wild last year, the Springfireld Dark Horse was a solo saddle amalgamation of the mechanicals and stature of an Indian Springfield. It received subtle yet dark cosmetic changes to give it a stealth outlook while blacking out just about everything to showcase the menacing character of the epoch Springfield.

For 2019, the Springfield manufacturer will equip the Springfield Dark Horse with a fresh sleaze of technology under its belt that enhances riding experience to an all new level. New Ride-Enhancing Technology like ride modes, rear cylinder de-activation, and a few others. But the star of the show is what makes the Dark Horse rather sane. The White Smoke color option.

The Quick-Changer from Bagger to Tourer

Though the new-in-2016 Indian Springfield is called a “bagger” by the Indian marketing folks, it is much closer to the truth to call it a tour bike. Before you start shaking your head, I would point out that big touring fairings are a relatively recent feature, and that back in the day, ’this’ is what American touring models looked like. Powered by the awesome Thunder Stroke® 111 engine, Indian worked in plenty of nostalgic touches here and there on the Springfield while it tackled the more pragmatic issues with an eye to modern performance. This ride is meant to serve as a tribute to the original Indian factory in Springfield, Massachusetts, and was joined by the Springfield Dark Horse, a black-out sinister version of itself.

This is what happens when profanity takes the high road.

“Evil” is a complex thing. Sometimes evil is justified, and this is one of those times where Evil is all you want to be riding on a personified saga on a veil.

Indian Motorcycles is lifting itself to the pinnacle for 2018 and for its second instalment (the first being the Roadmaster Elite), the Polaris owned manufacturer has launched the 2018 Indian Springfield Dark Horse. It a solo saddle amalgamation of the mechanicals and stature of an Indian Springfield and the blacked out theme carried from the Indian Chief Darkhorse. This will be the third model in the American line-up to get the Dark Horse treatment.

It gets updated with subtle yet dark cosmetic changes to give it a stealth outlook while blacking out just about everything apart from the exhaust. It carried around the same panache and poise of the epoch Springfield, a motorcycle that leaves no question of having a prominent place in the lineup of this historic brand that knows retro indulgence.
