The KTM 125 EXC Six Days is a tough off roader that is ready to follow your lead with obedience every time you feel the taste of adventure.

2014 KTM 500 EXC

KTM has taken the wraps off the 2014 model year of its 500 EXC. The bike comes with a few upgrades which make it better suited for the requirements of today’s off road riders.

The 500 EXC’s center piece continues to be the old 1-cylinder, SOHC 4-stroke, water-cooled, 510 cc engine which is carefully tweaked for tough enduro racing.

As far as style is concerned, the bike’s appearance has received a total makeover for 2014 and it comes with fresh shrouds, a new airbox cover, a modified front fender, a revised seat and a new headlight.

The suspensions were also revised for 2014, thus offering maximum traction and plenty of comfort. Needles to say that compression and rebound damping continue to remain adjustable according to the rider’s wishes.

All elements are mounted on a modern and light frame made of high-strength chromoly steel sections that now features thinner walled down tubes which makes it lighter than the old frame.

Powering the 450 EXC is a newly developed engine, redesigned from scratch. It is now more compact, lighter, and more powerful than before. Reduced reciprocating weight and a balancer shaft are also part of the bike’s powertrain set-up, as is a pressure pump that lubricates the engine and a suction pump that draws oil from the crankcase, using it to lubricate the transmission and the clutch. The 450 EXC also has a new, laterally integrated balancer shaft that not only eliminates vibration, but also serves as the drive for the water pump. KTM offers Limited Champion’s Edition models to celebrate 160+ World Championship titles

Having won more than 160 World Championship titles over the past 35 years, KTM feels the need to celebrate with the launch of a limited Champion’s Edition motorcycle series that involves the new 250 XC-FW, 450 XC-W, 450 EXC and 530 EXC models.

Standing out thanks to a fresh, new and racy look, the bikes are greater performers than their 2009 model year siblings and will start being available on June 1 at KTM dealerships across the country.

They don’t mention how many units of each model will be made so we can’t
figure how “limited” the bikes are so there might just be enough for everyone.

KTM’s unmistakably diversified off-road competition lineup brings the 450 EXC and 530 EXC motorcycles in our attention for being both track and trail machines and for offering the possibility to be taken on the roads too. They’ll never perform like dual-sports bikes and, most likely, they’ll go in the back of trucks if there are even 15-20 miles in between riding spots, but once there it will be nothing to stop these blasts.

The Austrian manufacturer simply had to profit of the light and nimble chassis and address to more than one category of riders with it and so two different and strikingly similar models ended up being produced. Displacement is really the only difference though.
