We know of Suzuki->ke371, Honda->ke291 and BMW->ke1398 having both two and four-wheeled automobiles on the roads, and we are pretty acquainted with them too. But the concept of seeing a Yamaha->ke301 badge on four-wheeled cars is quite uncomfortable, to be honest.

Yet, the Japanese Blue Team isn't the one to be afraid of the challenge. To brush up your knowledge, the brand has already showcased a four-wheeled sports car concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show - The 'Sports Ride'.

And now, two years later, the same folks will be showcasing yet another concept sports car at the same Tokyo Motor Show happening later this month. Sports Ride V.2.0?

Along with one motorcycle having Artificial Intelligence called MOTOROiD, one autonomous riding robot called the MOTOBOT V.2.0, electric assisted bicycle and a leaning multi-wheel (LMW) concept, Yamaha will reserve the biggest chunk of its floor space for this brand new sports car concept.

With this being the second such concept from Yamaha, and with Yamaha's acumen, fortunes and proven capabilities, don't be surprised to see one rolling down the road in the near future. They have proved their spunk in the two-wheeled world and so they will with four wheels.

The only remaining question is when. Not that they are completely new to this. The Japanese brand was, in fact, producing a 3.0-liter V6 screaming engine for Ford's factory hot rod Taurus SHO throughout the 90s.

The first Sports Rider concept was designed with Gordon Murray's iStream manufacturing process to produce lightweight, high-rigidity vehicle structures rooted from Formula One technology. Gordon Murray is a South African designer of Formula One race cars, the sexy Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and the legendary McLaren F1 road car.

It boasted of exquisite design and craftsmanship with attention to details and superior material selections just like every other Yamaha concept products. Metal, leather, and carbon. It had all of it in one brutish looking sports car that shared cues from Yamaha's strong heritage of motorcycles and musical instruments.

It even made use of the 200 hp Yamaha YZF-R1 in-line four soul that has blazed roads and tracks across all parts of the world. Although, some industry insiders cite that the engine in the new concept may be a turbocharged three-cylinder developed for the Motiv City Car, another Gordon Murray design. Of which has many features similar to the engine used on the Yamaha FZ-09 triple.

It is going to be an interesting time at Yamaha's stalls at the Tokyo Show, which runs from October 25 - November 5, and for the future of the company that has been resilient at everything they put their hands in.
