The Ducati 1199 Panigale was a very special motorcycle for the Italian bikemaker as it marked a new chapter in its lineage of sportbikes. What was even special, though, was the 1199 Panigale S Tricolore, the flagship model in Ducati’s lineup for 2012, one of which is up for grabs at Iconic Motorbike Auctions.

Interested? Well, here are all the details.

2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore Auction

The Ducati 1199 Panigale Tricolor was the company’s way of paying tribute to its birthplace, Italy. Consequently, it came wrapped in a beautiful tricolor red/green/white livery which stretched right from the headlight and cowl to the very tail end of the bike.

This, coupled with the carbon fiber fenders and the single-sided swingarm, made the motorcycle look truly exotic.

This wasn’t all, though. Since the Tricolore was based on the 1199 Panigale S, it came equipped with a variety of special parts like Ohlins electronic suspension at both ends (yes, in 2012!), and forged Marchesini wheels, which made it the pinnacle of sportbikes during the time.

In addition to all this, the Tricolore had a few exclusive tricks of its own, like racing ABS, Ducati Data Analyser with GPS (for recording lap times), and Termignoni exhausts to help boost performance.

Speaking of performance, the 1199 Panigale S Tricolore was powered by a 1,199cc, L-twin engine pumping out 195 horsepower and 97 pound-feet. Besides, the bike weighed just over 360 pounds, giving it the best power-to-weight ratio in its class.

The motor sat in Ducati’s then-signature aluminum monocoque chassis and used electronic Öhlins suspension at both ends, as mentioned earlier.

Not to forget, the bike came laden with electronics like engine brake control, traction control, quick shifter, and ride modes, along with a TFT instrument cluster that, even after 10 years, qualifies as a luxury for most people. Oh, and the TFT has ONLY 27 miles on the odo.

Coming to the aftermarket parts, the previous owner of this particular motorcycle has equipped it with a fancy Luimoto seat cover, a tail tidy, a racing brake foot lever, and Renthal handgrips.

Considering all these bits, I can safely conclude that this is indeed is an exotic and timeless machine that one should surely invest in, given you've got the cash to splurge that is.

What’s The Price?

Speaking of cash, the auction ends in a few days' time, and for now, only has a few random bids, which means that you still have a clear shot to take this bike home at a good price.

For your reference, the Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore retailed at $27,995 back in 2012.
