When Clews Competition Machines unveiled their Spitfire model last February, it made headlines all over the internet and received an insane amount of response from the riding folks. So much so that all the limited 150 models were sold within a span of one week. “It was a combination of the promise of pure riding pleasure and a timeless design that set hearts a fluttering at the show.”

CCM’s “SkunkweX” division is now about to unveil a new Bobber variant of their new Spitfire range at the 2018 MCN London Motorcycle Show. The bike will use the same 600cc single pot mill that does the job on all the Spitfire models including the Scrambler, Café Racer, and the Flat Tracker.

Hustled amongst the many British builders, Clews Competition Machines sowed seeds way back in the ‘70s when Alan Clews built a BSA scrambler with top-notch quality of work. It was so good that it was sold before Alan could even test ride the bike himself. Fast forward to the present, CCM has become a family business headed by Alan’s eldest son, Austin.

Reminiscence of the Supermarine Spitfire, a British fighter aircraft from the times of World War II, the CCM Spitfire is the brainchild of a specialist division within the shackles of CCM called ‘the SkunwerX team’. Designed over a bacon sandwich on their tea break, CCM let the ball rolling for multiple models over the next year based out of the same engine and chassis. Just like the multiple variants of the Supermarine Spitfire built using several wing configurations.

Adding to the list that includes the lightweight Spitfire, the rough off-roader Scrambler, the classic charmer Café Racer and the rugged Flat Tracker will be the bob-jobbed Spitfire Bobber. Teased in the form of a Youtube teaser video, the Bobber is said to make use of the 55 hp Husqvarna TE630 motor used on all the other Spitfires along with the same carbon-steel frame, adjustable WP suspension and Brembo brakes.

We managed to enhance the dimly lit shot in the video to give you a glimpse of the Bobber in a new light. It will have a radical and minimalistic look, thanks to the single floating seat, swept back bars, slammed suspension and chunky white-walled tires. Be sure that CCM will also make this a limited edition affair of 150 units and will be priced under $10,000, just like the other Spitfires.

The unveiling will take place at the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show, Friday – Sunday, February 15 – 17.
