• CFMoto Launches Seven New Motorcycles In The USA (Including A Honda Grom Rival)

With ADVs, mini bikes, streetfighters, and neo-retro offerings, there’s one for every type of rider

After a six-year-long hiatus, Chengfung Motors (CFMoto) has made a comeback in the U.S. motorcycle market by launching not one, not two, but seven motorcycles, namely the Papio, 300NK, 300SS, 650NK, 650 Adventura, and the 700 CL-X twins. Let’s take a look at them one by one.

2022 CFMoto Papio 125 - $2999

The Papio is CFMoto’s smallest, most affordable offering and a direct rival to the Honda Grom, which it undercuts by a sizable $500. It makes do with a 126cc, single-cylinder engine producing 9.3 horsepower and 6.1 pound-feet while boasting features such as single disc brakes at both ends, an LCD instrument cluster, and LED lights. Topping everything is a funky design with two striking colors - neon green and grey/red.

Next up, we have CFMoto’s entry-level offerings, the 300NK and 300SS. Both motorcycles employ a 300cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 29 horsepower and 18.7 pound-feet. Similarly, the features (TFT instrument cluster, slipper clutch, all-LED lights, and ABS), as well as the suspension setup (USD forks and monoshock), are common between the two.

The key difference here is the design. While the 300NK is a streetfighter with barely any bodywork, the 300SS is an entry-level sportbike with full fairings and clip-ons. In the market, the 300NK and 300SS go against the more expensive Yamaha MT-03 and YZF-R3, respectively.

2022 CFMoto 650NK & 650 Adventura - $6499 & $6799

The 650NK and the 650 Adventura are CFMoto’s answer to the Kawasaki Z650 and the Versys 650. Both CFMoto 650s boast 649cc, twin-cylinder engines and put out 60 horsepower and 41.3 pound-feet, slightly less than the Kawis.

Meanwhile, the feature list on these middleweights includes a TFT display, dual disc brakes up top, ABS, and smartphone connectivity. In addition to all this, the ADV also packs an adjustable windscreen, adjustable forks, and luggage racks.

2022 CFMoto 700 CL-X & CL-X Sport - $6499 & $6799

The final two motorcycles in CFMoto’s lineup are the CFMoto 700 CL-X and CL-X Sport, the former being a neo-retro naked roadster and the latter catering to neo-retro cafe racer enthusiasts. Being the sportier option, the 700 CL-X Sport boasts Brembo brakes, riding modes, cruise control, clip-on handlebars, and road-biased tires.

Meanwhile, the standard 700 CL-X only gets riding modes and single disc brakes at both ends. As for rivals, the 700 CL-X twins go against the Ducati Scrambler 800 lineup, which packs fewer features and cost more than the CFMoto.
