The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy has rocked the motorcycle market ever since it first came out way back in 1990. While its brawny appearance plays a key role in its popularity, equal credit also goes to the bike’s likable riding dynamics and thumping heart.

All this, however, was a bit sober for Len who got the Fat Boy but wanted to make it dapper and exclusive. So in search of ‘dapper’, the owner hit up UK’s custom Harley specialist, Laguna Motorcycles, who, like always, transformed the motorcycle into a mesmerizing beast.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy ‘Gold Digger’ By Laguna Motorcycles

With no budget constraints from the owner, Laguna Motorcycles really stretched its arms with this project but still retained the charm of the Fat Boy. Starting with the aesthetics, the motorcycle bids adieu to its chrome-heavy appearance and switches to a sinister avatar. Right from the custom alloys to the mechanicals (engine and suspension), everything is blacked out and blends well with the dark grey bodywork.

The crown jewel, however, is the gold treatment (yes, real gold!) on the headlight nacelle, cylinder heads, wheel axel, clutch cover, and chain guard which adds an unmatched contrast to the package.

As impressive as this is, the real magic has happened out back. Gone is the stock fender and the 240mm rear tire and in comes a 260mm hoop coupled with a sleek rear fender sourced from Thunderbike. In addition, Laguna Motorcycles chopped the subframe, took out the stock rear suspension, and threw in an air-ride system which is the reason for the bike’s bossy stance.

What about performance? Things are better here, as well. The motorcycle has a stage two camshaft and a custom free-flow exhaust, both focusing entirely on boosting performance. Couple this with the lower tail and wider wheel, and the Gold Digger should be a rocket off the line.

Finally, rounding things off is a custom handlebar, forward-set footpegs, mirrors, side plates, and a rider-only leather seat. Not to forget, the bike also has heated grips for extra comfort.

Can You Buy It?

No, you can’t because, as mentioned in the beginning, this was a private build. However, as always, feel free to hit up the bikemaker and get a quote if you want your motorcycle done the same way. For those who don’t have a donor bike, Laguna is also an official Harley-Davidson dealership.
