Dainese started in 2000 to develop an airbag system that would prove efficient in a motorcycle crash (or slide as you can see in the video) by protecting the rider’s upper body. By now, development has reached terminal faze and we can see the actual system working in a simulated fall-and-slide crash.
Scheduled to be released in 2010, the new air-bag-equipped suits (D-Tec system, as it was named) will be the first to be produced by a major bike clothing manufacturer. Let’s just hope that we won’t need it at all! But you never know for sure, do you?
