With the best model range available on the market aimed at young riders, Derbi has now extended its First Thrill philosophy to 125cc-capacity bikes, an opening to the world of two wheels for a large number of new riders. These are young adult riders who are passionate and receptive; eager to join the cycling world and ready to appreciate as new riders the same fantastic riding experience that younger riders do. Derbi delivers with its new range of 125cc models, packed with advanced design, high technology, reliability, fresh image and pure passion, the ingredients that have always distinguished Derbi machines.

For example, the outstanding new 4-stroke 125cc engine – the most advanced in its category. Its engine features liquid cooling, a four-valve double overhead camshaft that delivers 15 hp of power, and a six-speed gearbox. Derbi's new image is not limited to its range of attractive new models; it is reflected, too, in all aspects of the brand which continues to stand proud.

With 85 years of history, the success of the Red Bullets which have just gained the second place of the World Manufacturers’ Title in the MotoGp 2007 125cc category, plus its position of leadership in the industry, Derbi is heading toward a promising future in which it continues to be the authentic supplier of the First Thrill for the most passionate and expert motorcyclists.

Derbi attended the EICMA Exhibition in Milan at a time when its entire range has been renewed, rooted firmly in the moped segment where it is the indisputable leader along with an increasingly central presence in the 125cc capacity sector - the real cornerstone of today's European market. In line with this, the firm presented the new Senda DRD EVO 50 SM in Milan, raising the Supermoto to previously unimaginable limits. This category was pioneered by Derbi, the uncontested leader in the small displacement range. The new Senda DRD EVO 50 SM comes with a number of restyles to different models of the range, once again confirming the power of the brand in this category. Derbi has also invested strongly in the 125cc class, an important sector showing fast growth and fresh innovations. Based on its philosophy of attracting riders via their emotions – an approach that has brought so many successes to date in the 50cc category – the brand is now transferring the creative spirit to the next level: the 125cc. Here, Derbi comes in with its best: the mechanical foundation offered by the new liquid-cooled 125 4T engine, developed by the Piaggio Group. Without a shadow of doubt, this is the most powerful and advanced engine in its class. On the basis of this engine, and as a continuation of the recent launch of the Terra 125 and Mulhacén 125, the company continues to innovate in this category with the presentation of two new models in the 125cc segment: Terra Adventure 125, which opens up a totally new category in this displacement range, and the Mulhacén Café 125, which implies a significantly new variant in the charismatic scrambler range by Derbi.

Along with these new additions in the 50 and 125cc categories, at Milan Derbi also presented the Mulhacén Café 659 Ángel Nieto Limited Edition, a tribute to the rider who has garnered the most world titles under Derbi's near-mythical Red Bullets. This is offered as a limited edition based on the Mulhacén 659 Café. Together with these four important new launches presented at the 2007 Milan Show, Derbi also introduced a number of updates to other models in the range: Senda DRD Pro 50 SM, Senda DRD Racing 50 SM Limited Edition, Senda Baja 125, GP1 Racing 125/250i, Gpr Racing 50 Race Replica. Once again, this confirms the company's creative potential, focused on the highly demanding youth and adult markets. These are riders with significant motorcycle knowledge who are looking for a day-to-day life loaded with more style and technology, not to mention an extension of their personality.

The synergy brought about by the integration of Derbi into Europe's strongest holding company in the two-wheeled vehicles sector, Piaggio Group, enables the company to benefit along with the other brands in the Group from important technological advances made by Piaggio’s various R&D departments, with a focus of staying at the forefront of the market segment in which each brand is the leader.

The company is also running a competition for riders who register for the Planet Derbi online community, with a fantastic prize draw of a trip to Barcelona for two people, including tickets for the Catalunya GP with a special paddock pass and VIP welcome in Team Derbi's hospitality area.
