Ducati Paris unveiled the new Diavel 1260 S today ahead of the March release and Topspeed was there to get the scoop. For a three-day oogle-fest, the Paris showroom invites you to come take a look at Ducati's new addition to its power/sport-cruiser range.

Ducati Diavel 1260 S

The Ducati Diavel 1260 S is slated to hit showroom floors over there sometime in March, but the stateside Ducatisti will have to wait 'til April to get their hands on the latest Diavel, and probably to the tune of almost $30k. They say that the devil is in the details, but it's those details that make this Devil such a special machine.

The “S” rocks an improved, 1,262 cc L-Twin plant that adds the hot new Variable Timing feature on top of the signature Desmodromic valvetrain for a deeper torque well that clocks in with a total of 95 pounds o' grunt. Horsepower is well into power/sport-cruiser range at 159 ponies to make the “S” a thrill to ride, no matter your experience level.

Öhlins suspension components deliver a fully-tweakable ride, and a robust electronics suite comes with top-shelf fandanglery that includes Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati's proprietary traction control, Power Modes, Wheelie/Launch/Cruise control and an anti-theft system to keep it from growing legs in the parking lot.

The top-end speed is still an unknown -- the bike ain't even on showrooms yet -- but I expect it to be much faster than most cruiser types will want to go, even the sport-cruisers, and certainly faster than the folks down at the police station are willing to tolerate, so there's that. Stay tuned for updates as this diabolically delightful machine makes its way across the pond in the spring of 2019.
