The history of Ducati is driven by a unique engineering talent that has always generated motorcycles of unmistakable design and most profound sporting spirit. The Monster is no different. Which is why Ducati has planned a big bash for its 25th anniversary inviting all monsteristi to a Sunday Ride Classic, 24 March at Le Castellet, France.

The busy program includes many other events celebrating Ducati’s naked machine apart from the special celebratory parade. It will include the original Monster 900 MY1993 displayed at the Ducati Museum, an exhibition of special and custom Monsters and various contests.

In 1992, Ducati showcased the Ducati Monster 900 prototype at the Cologne “Intermot” Motor Show, and it became an instant icon. With its boundless personality and audacious nudity, it was a motorcycle that had revolutionized the "naked" bike category.

25 years after that, while someone will reckon Ducati for giving us some exciting and legendary faired superbikes like the 999, 1098 and Panigale, it is this range of streetfighters which have been the accessible fun tool for most of the Ducati fans across the world. The Monster range sold like hot cakes and played a major role in the expansion of the Ducati family.

Featuring exclusive Desmodromic timing engines, innovative design, and state-of-the-art technology, the Monster today is Ducati’s 90 years of passion, emotions and excellence put in between two wheels. It is a bike that was destined to take its rightful place in the history of international motorcycling. Especially for the Borgo Panigale brand.

The 25th-anniversary program will see the biggest gathering of Monsters ever held in France, which will include a free entry to all the Monster owners in the world to go around a huge parade on the Castellet Circuit. All they have to do is to register for the event and turn up at the “Paul Ricard” circuit on the morning of 24th March. The parade includes 2 laps on the 3.6 miles of the new F1 2018 layout.

The celebrations will include the display of the original Monster 900 MY1993 at the Ducati Museum. The bike was obtained through a collector who had taken care of it in immaculate condition. On March 5th, exactly 25 years ago, this bike set its foot outside the production line in Borgo Panigale, Bologna for the very first time.

This event will also be attempting to register a world record of the number of Monsters gathered at the same time at the same place. Then there will be an exhibition of everything Monster related including arts and apparel. Also, a competition where a panel of judges will select the most beautiful Monster, stock and custom builds included.

This celebration will carry onto the 2018 World Ducati Week, the world’s largest biennial Ducati rally. This event will be held on 20, 21 and 22 July 2018 at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit in Misano Adriatico.
