Benny Carlson accepted the Supermoto Unlimited championship at this year’s AMA Pro Racing Awards Banquet, with the same style and grace that he brings to the race track. The now two time Unlimited champion took the Aprilia SXV 550 to the podium 7 times, including 5 first place finishes, to earn the 2007 Championship.
In addition, the Factory Aprilia Rip It Racing Team earned the 2007 Team Championship as team manager/rider Darryl Atkins added 5 podium finishes of his own to the season. “We are extremely pleased with our 2007 season and at the same time we are already working toward better results in 2008,“ said Atkins. “The competition always gets better each year, particularly as more attention is placed in supermoto. We know where we can find more speed from the Aprilia and ourselves and can’t wait for the new season!”
