Electric motorcycles are all about pushing the technological boundaries and boasting futuristic designs.

However, when a customer brought in his Super Soco TC electric bike to Belgian designer Benjamin Surain’s door, he did the opposite, taking a step back and converting the modern e-bike into a staggering yet minimalistic cafe racer.

Custom Super Soco TC Cafe Racer By Benjamin Surain

Rightly dubbed “Nuit” (meaning ‘Night’ in English), the custom electric motorcycle is rocking an all-black look.

Right from its headlight nacelle to its bench-type flat seat, everything is wrapped in a sinister black color and the only other color present here is the chrome finish on the spoke wheels.

Color aside, the Nuit looks quite distinct from the stock Super Soco TC, which is courtesy of all the custom-made parts on display here. These include a redesigned frame, seat, faux fuel tank, and even the minimalistic bodywork.

Topping off the external changes is an aftermarket clip-on handlebar that helps the rider sit in an aggressive riding posture.

Complementing the dazzling new design is a meatier powertrain and sportier underpinnings. Taking up the former first, Surain has eked out thirty percent more torque from the motor and bumped up the top speed to 110kmph (68mph) from 75kmph (46mph).

As for the latter, the underpinnings now comprise fully adjustable suspension at both ends along with steel braided lines for the brakes.

In conclusion, the Nuit by Benjamin Surain comes across as a mesmerizing retro cafe racer that won’t punch a hole in the ozone, unlike the usual crop of gas-powered cafe racers.

Can You Buy It?

As I mentioned above, the Nuit was created for one of Surain’s clients, so it isn’t really up for grabs. However, you can hit up Surain and he’d be happy to build something similar for you, too.

In case you’re wondering, the Super Soco TC currently retails for around $4,000.
