The Hunter 350 will be Royal Enfield’s third motorcycle based on its J-series platform after the ‘21 Classic and Meteor 350 and will share its mechanicals with the new aforementioned models. So expect the Hunter to employ a 349cc, single-cylinder thumper belting out 20 horsepower and 27Nm, same as the Classic 350.

Interestingly, leaked documents suggest that the new bike will tip the scale at 177kg (390 pounds), a massive 18kg (40 pounds) less than the Classic, which would give it a considerably better power-to-weight ratio. This, coupled with the bike’s flat-ish handlebar and 17-inch wheels, should translate to a more lively riding experience.

We’re unsure how Royal Enfield has achieved such a drastic weight reduction because the Hunter carries forward exactly the same underpinnings as the Meteor 350. It could be because of the use of plastic panels instead of metal, but let’s wait for an official confirmation.

Besides this, the Hunter 350 will come in two variants - Retro and Metro. As the name suggests, the former will focus on keeping things old-school (read basic) by featuring spoke wheels, slimmer tires, single-channel ABS, and solid color options. Meanwhile, the former will take things up a notch with its dual-channel ABS, wider tires, ten-spoke alloys, and dual-tone colors featuring Scram 411-like graphics.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 - Final Thoughts

So who is the Hunter 350 for? Well, price-wise, the Hunter will sit slightly below its cruiser siblings, serving as a roadster-like commuter offering for the city. It aims to attract the youth with it which, in theory, finds the cruisers too old-school for them and want something more lively. Meanwhile, if you’re over 25, don’t worry as RE is also working on a 650cc roadster, expected to debut later in the year.
