Pandemic-hit custom show returns after two-year hiatus and will take place in Austin, Texas, on the same weekend as the U.S. MotoGP race at CoTA.

Handbuilt Motorcycle Show Back On In 2022

After a two-year absence, the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show returns for 2022 and will take up its traditional location and time slot: Austin, Texas over the weekend of the MotoGP race at Circuit of the Americas, April 8-10.

Hosted by Austin-based Revival Cycles, the show will feature over 150 custom-built motorcycles and an interactive art gallery in and around the facilities of the Austin American-Statesman news publications, offering over 10,000 square feet of curated show space. If previous years are anything to go by, over 25,000 visitors are expected over the weekend.

The seventh edition of the show will be sponsored by BMW, Rogue, Progressive, Circuit of The Americas, Dell, Indian Motorcycle, and Husqvarna.

“The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show was originally conceived as an excuse to get together with motorcycle builders from all over the world who inspired Team Revival,” says Alan Stulberg, the show’s founder and the founder of Revival Cycles.

The show offers the opportunity to not only see some of the best custom builds in the world but also mingle with the creators, showcasing “the beauty of what can be created by hand, from welders to leather makers, engine gurus, and metal tinkerers.”

“What it has developed into over the years,” Stulberg says, “is an artistic display driven by a passion for motorcycles that far exceeds our wildest expectations.”

Revival Cycles will be displaying their latest creation, based on a Ducati v-twin engine as well as another based on a Moto Guzzi.

Another famous name who will be present is Roland Sands and he admits that he is there not only to show off his latest creations but see which direction trends are taking.

“The Handbuilt Show represents the cutting edge of custom motorcycle building, where attendees get a peek at the next cool thing,” Sands says in a press release. “It’s actually a challenge to pinpoint that new trend. There’s so much to be inspired by that it can be a bit overwhelming.”
