Harley-Davidson to start producing the XR1200
First introduced to the public at the Intermot International Fair in October 2006 in the city of Cologne, Germany, the XR1200 model from Harley-Davidson caught the motorcycling public attention as THE American roadster to compete with the Japanese and European alternatives on the so competitive market of the old continent.
Ever since, the maker had refined and mitigated the new project in something that would satisfy the European rider’s expectation and it seems that Harley-Davidson is now satisfied with the work.
The American maker has recently announced the starting of production of the long awaited model at the plant in Kansas City, Missouri and the fact that all products resulted from this first phase will be heading to Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Riders in Europe have already made deposits for their new Harley and it seems that the Company not only refined the prototype, but the pricing also. As a result, the XR1200 will cost 11,500 euros, significantly lower than previously announced. This further proves the producer’s ambition to penetrate the naked category from which it stood so far away until now.
