Designed to be abused, the new engine and modern features make the package cheap, simple, and exciting to ride
by Punya Sharma, on LISTEN 02:49After the Hawk 11 and the Dax 125, Honda has now taken the wraps off the 2022 Super Cub 110 and the Cross Cub 110.
For those of you who don’t know, both of them serve as go-to city mopeds for people who want a dutiful bread and butter urban runabout in several International markets including the automaker’s home market of Japan.
2022 Honda Super Cub 110 & Cross Cub 110 - What’s New?
For 2022, Japanese auto giant Honda has rolled out a few notable updates for the Super Cub and the Cross Cub.
Taking up the design first, Honda has rejuvenated both offerings to look more modern by replacing their spoke wheels with 10-spoke alloy wheels. While the Cross Cub gets blacked-out units, the Super Cub adopts a silver finish for the alloys to go with its retro design.
Along with the alloy wheels, Honda has also added a disc brake at the front which, coupled with single-channel ABS, is a big step up from the drum brake setup on the outgoing model.
All this is topped off by an updated instrument cluster, boasting a digital inset that reads gear position, clock, and average fuel efficiency.

Another notable update comes to the engine. Though it is still a 109cc single-cylinder mill, the bore is now shorter by 3 mm while the stroke is longer by around 8mm. As a result, the torque and fuel efficiency has increased slightly for this year, whereas the peak power continues to be 8 horsepower.
Even the catalytic converted is much bigger here, suggesting the updated engine would meet stricter Euro 5 norms.
Apart from all this, the two cubs boast similar designs to their outgoing models while featuring the same basic suspension setup comprising telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers.
Of the two cubs, the Cross Cub 110 is the more rugged offering here and consequently has a higher seat height of 30.8-inch and curb weight of 235 pounds compared to the Super Cub’s 29.05-inch seat height and 222-pound weight.
What’s The Price?
The 2022 Super Cub 110 and Cross Cub 110 are priced at $2438 and $2925, respectively, which makes them quite affordable. However, these bikes are unlikely to come to the States, primarily because Honda already has the Super Cub 125 here.
