If Vitpilen means "White Arrow', Svartipilen (shwar-ti-pi-len) means "Black Arrow." The Svartiplen 701 was showcased as a concept version at the EICMA last week along with the production model of the Vitpilen 701.

Inspired by the resurgence of the iconic flat track scene, the Svartipilen 701 is a stripped down minimalistic version of the Vitpilen 701 naked streetfighter. The differences between the way Vitpilen and Svartipilen look are to do with the paint scheme, handlebars, and wheels.

The Svartpilen’s motocross-style single handlebar provides a more upright riding position with 18" and 17" cast wheels featuring Pirelli Scorpio Rally STR tires. The paint job on this Black Arrow is err... Black with fluorescent accents.

A tracker-style tail section gives a rough edge to it and the front gets a unique round headlight design with LEDs'. Rest of the details are scarce for now but expect to see a production version of this scrambleresque Svartipilen 701 soon.

Like the Vitpilen 701, the Svartipilen also runs on the same 693cc single that puts out 74 horses and 53 lb-ft of torque. Expect the same gizmos also to be here like the throttle-by-wire, switchable two-channel ABS and slipper clutch borrowed from the brand’s famous enduro models.

The only question that remains now is, how long will Husqvarna make us wait to get dirty with this Svartipilen 701? Until then, have a look at the gallery down below.
