Husqvarna is slowly releasing more details about its upcoming Norden 901 Adventure bike. Using the running gear from the KTM 890 Adventure, this will be the biggest Husqvarna ever and the company's first adventure bike. This second video looks at the process of research and development, detailing how all the various departments are coordinated towards reaching the same goal over the two year process, finally delivering the bike the customer wants.

The Second Video Showing Husqvarna Norden 901 Details

While the Husqvarna Norden 901 could be seen as a re-bodied KTM 890 Adventure, it is clear from these videos that the Swedish brand is working hard to give the new model its own identity.

In this second video, we learn how the research and development process has been coordinated between the various departments involved, all of whom have different aspects to consider, from the designers who want it to look a particular way to the engineers who need to package the various elements into that design and make it work.

While the video stops short of showing the Norden in full detail, we can see that the styling will follow closely in the footsteps of the Witpilen and Swartpilen. The Kiska design studio, responsible for the Wit- and Swartpilen, has been contracted once more to design the Norden so we know that it will break from the traditional mould.

Any new adventure bike has to marry several disparate qualities: comfort and agility and also both on- and off-road ability. It has to be rugged and strong but as light as possible.

We'll only know if Husqvarna has achieved that when we can ride it. For now, all we have to go on is what Husqvarna itself is letting us know.
