MV Agusta celebrate their most famous rider with the ultra limited-edition Superveloce.

MV Agusta Superveloce Ago

He is one of the all-time greats in motorcycle racing. Certainly, in terms of championships and races won he is the greatest. Giacomo Agostini remains a huge name in motorcycle sport and it's unlikely his records will ever be broken. 15 World Championships (eight in the 500cc class) and 122 race victories, including an incredible 38 consecutive victories in the 500cc class. Valentino Rossi, arguably the greatest rider of the modern era, has 9 championships and 115 victories but the chances of him adding to that are slim in the extreme and it would be impossible for him to beat Ago now.

Marc Marquez theoretically has a chance of beating Ago's tally but, really, is it likely?

To celebrate their most famous son, MV Agusta has released the Superveloce Ago, an ultra limited-edition version of the already beautiful 'retro' sports bike. The standard Superveloce was already heavily influenced by the silver and red bikes of the 50s, 60s, and 70s and the Superveloce Ago ramps up the nostalgia a notch or three.

Ago himself unveiled the bike at the recent MotoGP race at Misano, the race that saw Fabio Quartararo seal his first MotoGP world championship.

Mechanically the same as the standard Superveloce, the Ago version's paint job echoes his race bikes, while the machine proudly wears a yellow 'number 1' race plate.

The bike also comes with a a racing kit of three-way Arrow exhaust silencer, control unit with racing map, limited edition carbon plate, black leather tank strap, racing kit box and red handgrips.

In total, there will be 311 of these machines built, representing the 311 race victories over the whole of his career, before and during his 350cc/500cc Grand Prix career. the first 15 will be numbered 01 to 15, representing his championships.

Coming in at a cool 32,100 Euros, there's no doubt that they'll all find good homes very quickly.
