Even though electric motorcycles are still primarily considered a means of basic transportation, there are no two ways that these bikes have the potential to be epic drag racers, thanks to the massive amount of torque at hand, not to mention all of it is instant.

Realizing this potential, Dresden-based Hookie Co. had a crazy idea of creating a silent drag racer ahead of the Glemseck 101 festival which will debut an electric-only category this year. Now, the custom bikemaker has brought this idea to reality, and it’s called the ‘Silver Ant’.

Custom Electric Drag Race Bike By Hookie Co.

Under the skin, the Silver Ant is essentially a CAKE Osa+ electric motorcycle}. This motorcycle, though meant for hauling luggage and running day-to-day tasks, has been tastefully converted into a purpose-oriented straight-line missile.

Starting with the aesthetics, Hookie Co. has used its own custom ‘Ant’ body kit which was introduced a few months back. This version of the body kit, though, is a single-piece unit made out of aluminum to cover most of the bike’s parts and even work as a seat.

This is complemented by custom-made LED headlights and tail lamps, both featuring custom ‘displays’ which can be tweaked via a controller.

With the styling sorted, the next update comes to the ergonomics. For proper straight-line prowess, a drag race bike needs to be pretty low, with the rider in a proper tucked-in position.

Owing to this, Hookie Co. swapped the Osa+'s stock USD forks with shorter units, also throwing in super-low clip-ons which replace the stock upright handlebar}. Plus, to keep the attention to detail spot on, you also get the company’s self-made ‘Frozen’ handlebar grips.

Apart from all this, the main wizardry lies underneath. You see, Hookie Co. is quite familiar with Cake’s powertrain and this is why it wasted no time ripping out the controller, eking out all the power from the 10kW motor.

The company is still fine-tuning the motor but the end goal is clear as daylight: a top speed of 100mph (50mph more than the stock Osa+’s top speed). Also, Hookie Co. has even tweaked the acceleration curve of the motor, while decreasing the engine braking to near zero.

Besides the aforementioned changes, the chassis, rear suspension, swingarm, and even the stock 14-inch spoke wheels are all stock. The only change here is the inclusion of Michelin tires which replace the stock bike’s dual-purpose rubber.

Can You Buy It?

Sadly, Hookie Co. hasn’t really specified the price of the Silver Ant but the company does state that it’s available on request. For the moment, all we can do is wait to see what this does at the Glemseck 101 festival.
