McAdoo Kawasaki Racing and Ian Hutchinson left the 2006 Ulster Grand Prix as world record holders, with Ian setting the fastest road race lap record at a staggering 130.828mph! Hutchinson also set a new lap record for the 600cc class at 125.433mph.

The opening race of the day was the Superstock 1000cc class and Hutchy was extremely confident of victory as the Kawasaki ZX-10R Superstock is an awesome machine.

The Supersport 600cc race followed and this brought Hutchy’s first lap record of the day. In a terrific seven lap battle with Guy Martin, Hutchy smashed the old 600cc lap record to bits, setting a new time of 125.265mph.

The second Supersport 600cc race was almost a carbon copy of the first with Ian on the McAdoo Kawasaki ZX-6RR at the front with Guy Martin for company. The pair went at it for six laps and again, Martin was the braver of the two through the wet patches on the last lap to claim victory. Runner-up spot again for Hutch but he managed to smash his own lap record again, this time recording a speed of 125.433mph. This means the international road racing season ends with Hutchy and the McAdoo Kawasaki ZX-6RR as holder of both the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix 600cc class lap records. We also hold the North West 200 Superstock 1000cc class record for good measure!
