If you were expecting significant updates to the 2022 KTM 890 Duke, then you might fee a little short changed: a new colour is about the only change.

2022 KTM 890 Duke R Is More of the Same

A week ago, KTM teased us with out-of-focus shots of the latest 890 Duke R, leading us to believe that big updates might be on the way. However, it seems that the lack of focus was there to hide the fact that there aren't really any updates.

To be fair to KTM, two new models were teased: the 890 Duke R and a new 890 Duke Grand Prix. We'll have to wait for February 22nd to see what the GP will be so, for now, we'll have to concentrate on the 890 Duke R.

The thing is, there's not much to concentrate on! It seems as if the only updates to the 2022 890 Duke is a new paint job. Called Atlantic Blue, it adds a splash of matt blue allegedly linking it to the MotoGP bikes.

As before, the 890 Duke R is chock full of technology but, again as before, the downside is that you will have to pay for some of the tech to be unlocked, even though it is already fitted to the bike. The offending item is the TRACK riding mode which is already there on the TFT dash but you can't access it without a dealer inputting the code into the bike's electronic brain.
