The Goodwood Circuit Revival in the UK is possibly the best historic race meeting in the world and it's happening this weekend! Mainly car-based but there are a few motorcycle races with not only some incredible bikes taking part but also some world-famous riders.

If you're a fan of historic racing, then there really is only one place you should be this weekend. Founded in 1998, the Goodwood Revival has established itself as the premier event on the historic racing calendar. Noted not only for the utterly mouthwatering line-up of racing machinery and roster of internationally famous drivers, it is a fantastically nostalgic trip down memory lane, with all competitors and the vast majority of spectators entering into the spirit of things and dressing up in period clothing. You could almost be back in the 1950s.

Although mainly a car event, there is the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy race for motorbikes, which draws a similarly impressive array of machinery and riders. GP riders Freddie Spencer, Mick Grant, Dani Pedrosa, Steve Parrish and Troy Corser have participated in the past, alongside Isle of Man TT riders John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, James Hillier, Michael Rutter, Dean Harrison and Maria Costello and British Superbike Championship riders Josh Brookes, Tommy Bridewell and Peter Hickman (himself also a TT winner).

The majority of riders are aboard Manx Nortons, but there will also be MV Agustas, Ruges, Matchless, AJS and BMWs.

And they're not messing around with parade laps, either. The racing is as fierce as if it is a championship race. There are many videos but the best always seem to involve Troy Corser, former World Superbike champion, riding an 80 year old BMWs.

And this one where he at least has a foot change on his 1935 BMW:

Or this one:

Or this one in appalling weather where he loses it at the chicane in a huge puddle of water while chasing John McGuinness.

Of course, a lot of us can't be there but the whole weekend is available for viewing on the Youtube live feed - see top of this article - and I suggest that you cancel all your plans for the weekend and settle down for some of the best racing you'll see this year.
