Meet Dunaali - A Carbon Fiber-laden Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Made For The Drag Strip
Designed for speed, the bike weighs a lot less than the stock bike and makes 50% more power too!by Punya Sharma, on
In a sea of custom Royal Enfields, we rarely come across some truly exceptional projects. This, however, is exactly that.
Dubbed ‘Dunaali’ (meaning a double-barrel shotgun), this custom Continental GT 650 has been created by India-based Greasehouse Customs who wanted to build something that looks fast and goes even faster.

For such an extensive build, the first step is usually stripping everything off and that’s exactly what happened here, too.
Greasehouse took no time to tear the Continental GT down to its screws, weighing each part to make a note of where they could shave off a few more grams by using lighter parts. With the sketches and planning in place, it was time to get the hands dirty.
Since this was aimed to be a ‘fast’ drag racer, the Continental GT’s 648cc, the parallel-twin engine was the first to receive the upgrades. Greasehouse equipped the stock engine with high compression pistons from S&S Cycle, bigger injectors, and an aftermarket ECU, bumping the power to a commendable 62 horsepower at the rear wheel. For reference, the stock engine makes 47 horsepower at the crank.
In addition to this, the engine has been tuned to make more power lowdown and coupled with a Rekluse clutch and a quick-shifter - two crucial components for a drag racer.
With the engine sorted, next was the chassis. Though the company kept the suspension mods to a minimum, the Dunaali still packs a lighter subframe, shortened front forks, a custom swingarm, and preload-adjustable YSS rear shocks. Oh, and the bike now rolls on custom 17-inch spoke wheels wrapped with Michelin slicks for utmost grip and sharp riding dynamics.
Now, time for the carbon fiber bits. Weight plays a crucial role in drag racing and the stock Continental GT isn’t exactly light. So all the necessary bodywork - fuel tank cover, side panels, and tail cover - has received the full carbon fiber treatment to lighten the package. Besides this, the bike also gets a massive carbon fiber fairing up front and a custom aluminum fuel tank, for aerodynamic prowess and shaving off an extra few pounds, respectively.
Thanks to all this weight-saving, the Dunaali weighs just 375 pounds!
For the final touches, Greasehouse also threw in CNC-machined clip-ons, new grips, a UMA Racing quick-throttle, custom rear sets, and an aftermarket master cylinder.
Can You Buy It?
Sadly, no. The makers of the bike are currently busy running this in local drag racing events to establish this as the fastest Royal Enfield 650 drag motorcycle in India, one of which has already been a success.
