Ask any enthusiast and they’ll tell you what a riot pocket bikes are. After all, these bikes basically let you test your skills and push your limits in a much safer and more inexpensive way than a full-sized motorcycle.

One such bike is the 2022 Benelli TNT 125 which hails from Italy and looks well-capable of dethroning the popular Honda Grom. Let’s take a look.

2022 Benelli TNT 125 Design & Features

Unlike the Grom, the Benelli TNT 125 is based on naked streetfighters like its elder siblings like the TNT 600. As a result, the baby TNT looks quite sporty and follows an edgy design language.

Upfront, the TNT 125 flaunts a sleek all-LED headlight equipped with four projector lamps inside. Complementing this are brawny tank panels and a color-matched exposed chassis, depending on the livery you go for.

But the highlight of the design, for me, is the tail section boasting twin slash-cut exhausts that may remind you of another Italian manufacturer. Comment down below if you know which bikemaker I’m referring to.

Additionally, the tail lamp and the accompanying indicators are quite unique too and make this pocket bike look like a full-sized one.

Next, let’s come to the features. This is where the TNT 125 falls a little short on the Honda Grom, as it features a Digi-analog instrument cluster compared to the Grom’s digital LCD. Not a deal-breaker, though, considering you still get all-LED lighting, USD forks, and disc brakes at both ends as standard.

2022 Benelli TNT 125 Engine & Underpinnings

Underneath its good looks, the Benelli TNT 125 draws power from a Euro 5-compliant 125cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 11.1 horsepower and 7.3 pound-feet. Interestingly, this is 1.5 horsepower more than the Grom, which gives the TNT an upper hand.

With slightly more power, the TNT 125 should have a better top speed and a higher cruising speed. Of course, this has to be tested before we make a conclusive statement.

The TNT’s engine is housed in a steel trellis chassis that’s accompanied by a 35mm USD fork and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the bike rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels clamped by a 210mm disc up front and a 190mm disc at the rear.

As you’d expect, the TNT 125 has a fairly low seat and kerb weight at 780mm and 273 pounds, respectively.

2022 Benelli TNT 125 Price & Availability

Even though the TNT 125 trumps the Honda Grom on paper, Benelli is yet to bring it Stateside. This becomes even more jarring when you consider the 2021 TNT 125 is nearly 1,500 Euros ($1,600) cheaper than the 2021 Honda Grom in European markets.

Given the choice, would you pick the TNT 125 over the Honda Grom? Comment below with your answer!
