With only 500 examples built, the Super Duke RR sold out in 50 minutes. Now, KTM has announced the Super Duke 1290 R Evo.
KTM Super Duke 1290 R Evo
The KTM Super Duke 1290 R has become the standard by which all other naked sports bikes are measured. Insanely fast and dynamic, it is not a bike for the faint of heart.
KTM then upped the ante with the arrival of the Super Duke 1290 RR, which was 9kg lighter and had plenty of carbon fibre goodies and upgraded components. The only problem was that there were only 500 built and they sold out in 50 minutes of going on sale.
Now, the Austrian manufacturer is launching the Super Duke 1290 R Evo, with a significant suspension upgrade over the base Super Duke R, as revealed by the Asphalt&Rubber website.
The WP APEX suspension fitted to the ’standard’ Super Duke has been changed to semi-active suspension from the same manufacturer, which is part of the KTM empire. There is also new quick-action throttle and new graphics.
Retail price will be $19,599 and it should be available in showrooms in January 2022 and will go some way to appease those fans who missed out on the RR and promises to make the Super Duke even better than ever.
