Vito Ippolito, the new president of the International Motorcycle Federation came to Borgo Panigale to visit the Ducati factory and to meet with Gabriele Del Torchio (Ducati CEO) and Claudio Domenicali (CEO Ducati Corse). President Ippolito was accompanied by Guy Maitre (FIM CEO), Oliver Godallier (FIM Marketing Director) and Ignacio Verneda (FIM Sports Director).

This courteous and informal visit was a clear sign that the new FIM President intends on keeping up a good relationship with motorcycle manufacturers. After meeting with Ducati top management, the FIM delegation had a guided tour of the factory, the museum and the Ducati Corse department. Keeping up the informal tone of the visit, together the group discussed the future of the world of sports motorcycling among other items of the day. President Ipplito was very impressed with the atmosphere he found at Ducati and the hospitality that he received here. Upon departure he left a plaque to remember his visit and he congratulated the Borgo Panigale factory on its commercial and sport successes.
