Mondial is a motorcycle manufacturer that surprisingly has background, competing in the early days (1950s) with the other major Italian motorcycle manufacturers like Ducati, MV Agusta, Bimoto and Benelli.

The factory closed its gates in the past but only to reopen them a few years ago when they introduced us the Piega, a sports bike with a classic, Italian feel.

Now, I’ve come across some new pictures that present us the upgraded version of the Piega, the prototype that you are invited to see in the attached pictures.

The motorcycle features the 999cc V-Twin engine from Honda SP-1 Sporster, the same engine that equipped the Piega a few years ago but no further details were released, as the bike is a prototype.

The idea was to put the bike’s body on a diet so they implemented many carbon fiber parts (especially the swingarm) which can be very easy to notice in the pictures.

Let’s hope that we are assisting to the revival of Mondial and soon we’ll be test driving such a motorcycle (that guy sure has a big smile on its face).
