The Swedish 2-stroke specialists, Suter, makes the $140,000 MMX 500 that’s been judged as the ultimate track weapon by honchos all around the industry. The 576cc V-4 delivers a claimed 195 hp and is well complimented by the Moto2 derived chassis and some top-spec Ohlins’ and Brembos’.

Only 99 salable units are being made creating exclusivity which means that they will hold their value better than most machines. If you are one of those many chaps like me, then you might have another small window of chance to own one MMX 500; albeit a 1:12 scale precision model.

Suter partnered with Italian model company, BoldItalia, over a year ago to create a 1:12 model for the Moto2 Suter MMX 2010. Now, BolidItalia offers the first full kit dedicated to the mighty MMX 500, and of course, is also a limited edition affair. The project was supported directly by Suter Racing, and the result is a 1/12 scale kit that is very faithful to the original lines with exceptional detailing.

There are three ways to get your hands on the model depending on how seriously involved you wish to be in building it yourself. For $330 you will receive an assembly kit that is easy to assemble and is supported by photographic instructions. The components are made of parts in resin and metal that goes through processes like photoengraving and thermoforming.

Then you can opt for a limited edition box set that will come with a commemorative wooden box for $490. There will only be 25 units of this box on which you can mount your construction on. If you aren’t the one fancying the building process, the $1075 kit is for you. This will have the 1:12 model already mounted on the wooden box and closed off with the glass top.

There will be only 20 such ready models, the same amount as there are running Suter MMX 500’s in the market. The company will ship it worldwide to both individuals and shops / distributors.
