Moto Morini never misses a chance to amaze the motorcycling public and we should give the small Italian manufacturer the credit it fairly won by being consequent and trusty.

For 2008 it is all about the new launches, the Scrambler and 1200 Sport, which have just gotten their official pictures taken and are ready to impress not only with the looks, but with the attitude, also.

The bikes made their entry at the Padova Motorcycle Show two weekends ago and were presented as being derived from the successful Moto Morini 9½ Sport which is powered, like all of these manufacturer’s models, by an 1187cc V-twin engine producing in this case 117bhp.

The frame on both new models is taken straight from the 9½ Sport, but what come different are the Marzoccchi forks supporting an Excel spoked front wheel. On the Scrambler, a 19” front wheel does the trick as the bike will be ridden off the road and the 1200 Sport is happy with a 17” unit. Rear wheel on both models is 17”.

As you can already see in the pictures, the Scrambler is equipped with off-road tyres while the 1200 Sport features road tyres. But the type of surface on which a bike is being exploited not only reflects on the type of rubber chosen and the dimensions of the wheels. Suspension settings are also very important and decisive so rear suspension setting differ one from another, their only common point being the supplier: 2007 Moto Morini Granpasso 1200.

Colors are also distinctive. The Moto Morini 1200 Sport is being painted in two color schemes, orange/blue and green/yellow, while the Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 a single black/white paintjob.

Both new entries will be ready for sell in March, but suggested retail prices haven’t been made public yet.
