This weekend, Saturday May 6th, Southern California in general -- and Los Angeles specifically -- will enjoy its very first top-end custom bike->ke296 event; the Outlier's Guild Motorcycle Show. A sort-of unholy alliance between Jay LaRossa of Lossa Engineering, Ralph Holquin of RMD Garage, John Pangilinan and Stan Chen makes this whole thing possible. These much-esteemed gentlemen got together and decided to do something about the lack of love shown to the custom-motorcycle culture in sunny Southern California. Who can blame them? Custom bike building is as much art as it is mechanical science, and it has a long and storied history in the U.S. as one of our favorite sub-cultures.

What's the Scoop?

Unlike the gritty garage gatherings of years past, the OG Moto Show looks to be a rather civilized affair with food and drink on tap, art and photography exhibits, craft beer and artisan coffee, a barber for some reason and live music over it all. Entries are expected from all around to compete for the top prize in the Cafe' racer->ke3530, full custom, Classic, Bobber->ke5325, Tracker, Old-school chopper->ke2288, and Scrambler->ke5343 categories. That's quite a spread of styles, and is sure to have something for everyone. In short, if there is nothing here to your taste, then you need to acquire some taste. If you are in or near the L.A. Area this weekend you should definitely swing by “The Container Yard” at 800 East 4th Street anytime from noon till 9 PM.
