Confidence, control, safety and performance for the novice and expert alike!

What are ABS-PBS braking systems?

Safety concerns often put off potential scooter buyers. Many scooter novices are worried about how they will cope in an emergency when it comes to stopping safely especially in the wet. The ABS-PBS systems are Peugeots solution, and allow the novice to brake as efficiently as a rider with years of experience. The principle is simple, right hand for GO, left hand for STOP, and a system designed to maximise safety as well as performance.

You may be a novice, but you can brake like an expert!

Peugeots ABS-PBS (or Anti-lock Braking System) is the kind of system normally found on high performance cars. It allows optimum braking force to be used within 60 milliseconds of pulling the lever, and removes the risk of locking the front wheel. This sort of braking is far more of an advantage on two wheels, and the equivalent performance can only be achieved on a normal braking system by a hugely talented rider, and even then not every time!

NO FRONT WHEEL LOCKING AND TOTAL STEERING CONTROL

The front wheel will not skid under braking no matter what the road conditions even if the brakes are applied too hard.

DRAMATICALLY REDUCED STOPPING DISTANCES (by over 8.2 meters) THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO 2 CAR LENGTHS!

Peace of mind at all times knowing that the brakes can be applied without risk of front wheel locking prevents hesitation and reduces stopping distance further.

ABS-PBS is available on some Jetforce and Satelis models.
