QJMotor, which also owns Benelli, for the longest time, has only sold its motorcycles in its home country of China, but the bikemaker is slowly but surely bringing its expansive lineup of bikes to the European market, mainly to ruffle the feathers of its Japanese rivals.

After tackling 400cc and 600cc segments, the firm is now eyeing the mid-capacity ADV segment with its newly type-approved 650cc adventure bike.

QJMotor 650cc Adventure Bike Leaked

According to the leaked type-approval documents, QJMotor plans to introduce a four-model lineup

- Alloy wheels with luggage

- Alloy wheels without luggage

- Spoke wheels with luggage

- Spoke wheels without luggage

Apart from the changes in the type of wheels, all four bikes will expectedly share the same underpinnings and engine.

Speaking of which, the ADV employs a 645cc, V-Twin engine with the same bore and stroke as the Suzuki V-Strom 650. However, QJ has eked out 75 horsepower from the engine, nine horsepower, and five horsepower more than the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650, respectively, already giving it an edge over its rivals. }

But this is slightly offset by the bike’s 482-pound curb weight, 13-pounds more than the V-Strom. Not to mention, the spoke wheels and luggage further add a substantial ~ 42 pounds to the equation.

As for underpinnings, the QJMotor 650cc ADV features chunky USD forks upfront working in conjunction with a rear mono-shock. The 19/17-inch (F/R) wheels, meanwhile, feature dual front discs and a single rear disc, both clamped by Brembo calipers.

All the aforementioned bits are packed in a decently handsome attire with a vertically stacked oval headlight cluster and brawny bodywork for company. Crash protection is aplenty too, as you get tubular guards near the fairings, handguards, and a prominent bash plate for the engine.

In addition, expect the ADV to boast a handful of modern features like a TFT instrument, Bluetooth connectivity, slipper clutch, and USB charging.

QJMotor 650cc Adventure Bike - Expected Pricing & Launch

Judging from what we know so far, it’s quite evident that QJMotor is trying to take on the 650cc ADV space with its new offering. So expect the motorcycle to retail at ~$8,000, undercutting both the Versys 650 and the V-Strom 650.

As for the launch, QJMotor will unveil the motorcycle first in China, followed by a European debut, possibly around EICMA.
