The electric revolution is well and truly upon us and almost all leading bikemakers have announced their electric programs. Case in context today is KTM, who openly announced the E-Duke a while back. Following up on this, designer Siva Shanker has imagined KTM’s future electric streetfighter, and it looks just as capable as the existing Duke range.

KTM E-Duke Electric Bike Rendered

One look at the render and the motorcycle looks undeniably KTM. Just like the existing models, the concept has sharp body panels all around, topped with orange graphics and bold KTM stickers. The middle section and fascia are particularly impressive, boasting edgy tank panels and a sleek headlight up top just like the KTM’s 790 Duke concept. Similarly, there's an equally edgy, floating tail section with an LED tail lamp and LED indicators.

Interestingly, the designer has equipped the E-Duke with a monocoque-type chassis instead of the usual trellis setup we see on KTMs. This frame holds together a neatly wound block that houses the battery and motor, which we already know will have a capacity of 10kW and 5.5kWh, respectively.

Meanwhile, other chassis components include USD forks, a monoshock, and ten-spoke alloy wheels clamped by dual discs up top and a single disc outback. The designer has even imagined an off-road version of the naked motorcycle with spoke wheels, a 19-inch front wheel, and off-road tires. Given KTM’s rich ADV history, an electric ADV by the brand sounds quite possible, so much so, that we can bet the Austrian giant is already working on it.

To round off, the KTM electric Duke concept isn’t too unrealistic and there’s a high chance the final product will be similar to this. Now, we know this isn’t an official sketch, but almost all traits come from existing KTMs, which is what makes this promising.

Since the bikemaker has already announced its EV plans, the first electric Duke isn’t too far in the future. In fact, we believe KTM could shock (pun intended) us all and take the wraps off it at the upcoming 2022 EICMA. Are you excited about KTM’s first electric motorcycle? Let us know in the comments.
